The world isn’t really the cold, uncaring place it sometimes appears to be. There’s actually a whole lot of stuff out there that’ll fire up the feel-good emotions and make you feel better about your place in the universe. Don’t believe me? Scroll through this list.
“Some random dudes on campus being DUDES.”

College campuses can be an uncertain place, especially late at night when you’re walking back to your dorm or off-campus housing. All it takes to feel better in these situations is having someone to walk with.
“Sweecret message.”

This is a clever move by the barista, but it could backfire. By turning the warning into a flirtatious message, they’re risking a lawsuit. Then again, maybe they’re balancing that risk against the possibility of getting a date.
“I commissioned a 9 year old to draw my dog. I think she nailed it!”

Is this fine art? I don’t think so, but then again, the young artist did a great job of capturing the essence of this dog.
“Every year my parents recreate the Christmas card our friends send them of their kids, here’s this year’s!”

I always appreciate when a photo is re-created. Here’s one such example. There’s some great attention to detail, and I really like how the older folks are undercutting the price.
“This crow couple has been together for more than 12 years. She broke her beak 8 years ago in a collision with a car. Since then he has fed her patiently and loved her. Living proof that compassion isn’t limited to people.”

I knew that crows were smart birds, but I didn’t know that they were compassionate, monogamous birds.
“The hospital let my dog stay with me after brain surgery!”

When you’re in a bad way, sometimes all you want is to be with your beloved pet. I’ll bet this guy felt a whole lot better knowing his dog was there with him.
“That loving look.”

There’s something deeply touching about seeing someone react this way to seeing you. No matter how this person’s life is going, they can take comfort in the fact that their virtual presence has totally made their grandpa’s day.
“In 2007, Jim Parsons, then an almost unknown actor, took this photo after getting super excited to see his face plastered on an advertising poster for the first time.”

It’s hard to imagine a world where Jim Parsons’ Sheldon character wasn’t ubiquitous, but here’s a look at that simpler time.
“Mere seconds after she said yes.”

When you propose to someone, you want them to respond emphatically. Getting a reaction like this, though, is just a bonus. I’m going to go ahead and assume that she said yes to this one.
“Safest place on earth ❤️”

At the end of the day, the comfiest, safest place to be is tucked underneath the covers. For a kid, it’s hard to imagine a place with more safety than in bed, safely nestled in between your parents.
“I’m really happy for the little man.”

I speak English, but don’t speak British, so I’m not sure what ‘chuffed’ means. Is it a synonym for ‘stoked’? Either way, I’m glad this little bunny is so chuffed to get this sweet new rug.
“I cleaned up a bunch of litter today!”

If you’ve ever wondered just how much litter is out there, go out with a trash bag and start picking it up. The bag will probably be full by the time you’ve walked a couple of blocks.
“I lost my dad to COVID this past July and came across these old pics of him fixing my bow-tie for prom. So I had to make sure he was looking snazzy too. I miss him but am grateful for memories like this.”

Photos like this are certainly bittersweet, but at least they capture some treasured memories.
“First baby In my first house. I’ve never known happiness like this.”

Is this what complete satisfaction looks like? You can just tell by his expression that he’s overjoyed to have reached this position in life, with a house of his own and a baby of his own.
“My wife got up at 2am this morning to hike a mountain with some friends. She’s on her way home right now and probably thinks she’s going to have to immediately take over taking care of the kids so I can get my work done. This is what I have waiting for her instead.”

Spouses can expect nice gestures on their birthdays, but it’s the unexpected ones that make all the difference.
“Last night’s 1-2 am ‘Family Camping Trip.’ Daughter unaware of tornado nearby destroying our town.”

I love this. Telling their daughter about an active tornado probably would have freaked her out, so they decided to make it an adventure instead.
“This man on a roadside.”

Suicidal people are often hanging onto life in the hope that they’ll see something that might make them reconsider. It’s impossible to know, of course, but this simple gesture might just have saved a few lives.
“Wife is keeping the house after the divorce. I’ve moved out. This is what I’m keeping. Cheers.”

Things might not have worked out the way this guy would have liked, but he’s looking on the bright side. He’s still got a roof over his head and his best friend for company.
“Feelin’ a little squirrelly.”

I find squirrels cute from a distance, but don’t want to get up close and personal with one. No judgment on this guy, though, because this pic is downright adorable. I wonder if the squirrel does this often.
“My dog thinks it’s a matter of finding the right toy to get me to play with her.”

You can tell that the wheels are really turning in this dog’s brain. She knows that one toy is the right toy, she just has to figure out which one.
