Stranger Things is one of the most defining TV shows of the 2010s, and with the season finale of Part 4, we can’t wait to see what season five has in store. The Eighties-themed paranormal show created by the Duffer Brothers for Netflix reignited social media, announcing its fifth and final season coming the next two years.
The duo addressed fans burning questions during the Tudum event last weekend. The frontline question is where inspiration would come from this time, and the Duffer brothers revealed some information.
Fans want to know because the show is famous for reviving old Eighties pop culture, including the chart-topping hit Running Up The Hill (A Deal with God) by Kate Bush.
Duffer Brothers Reveal What’s Coming In Season Five
They said it’ll be a summary of all four seasons before as they’ll merge origin stories from Season One with the large-scale chaos of Season Four. Ross said it’s a bit of everything, per Deadline :
Season Five is about to be bigger than we’ve ever seen in the Stranger Things universe since the previous season ended with the “Upside-Down” merging with the real world. Hold tight while we bring you up to speed if it all sounds foreign.
Get Up To Speed On The Hottest Netflix Show
Stranger Things surrounds five friends – four boys (Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Finn Wolfhard, and Noah Schnapp) and a girl – living in a small Midwestern town, Hawkins, in the Eighties. The girl, Eleven, a.k.a. El (Millie Bobby Brown), has superpowers from a science experiment and uses them to help the boys and their town defeat supernatural evil.
Lurking beneath the planes of their town is an alternate reality called “The Upside Down,” where another supernatural being rules and seeks to merge with the surface world.
Last season, Hawkins split into four parts after the death of “Four Horsemen,” bringing the evil being, Vecna, a.k.a. One, a.k.a. Peter Creel (Jamie Campbell Bower) into the real world, and so the battle begins.
Now that you’re up to speed let’s dive into the known details of Season Five.
What Is In Season Five?
Season Five will open with an episode titled Chapter One: The Crawl, following its conclusion at the writer’s table. There’s a general plan and backstory, so all that’s left is the development of the episodes and concluding every character’s arc to avoid plot holes.
We’re excited to see what’ll become of the pre-teens and teenagers we have met and loved since 2016.
War Is In Hawkins
The fifth season teaser showed Will (Schnapp) sensing Vecna through the hairs on the back of his neck. Remember, they had that connection in Seasons One and Two, so Will is still connected to the villain.
The teenager posits that Vecna will never stop until he takes everything while Vecna tries to sell his vision to the kids. It ends with Hawkins splitting into four and Vecna entering the living world.
