The world was devastated by the news that we had lost Alex Trebek after his lengthy fight with pancreatic cancer on November 8th, but nobody was more devastated than those who knew him personally and loved him.
Actor Ryan Reynolds has given an emotional interview about the last time he spoke to Alex before his tragic passing.
Ryan reflected on how Alex’s passing had changed his worldview.
“It forces you to look around a little bit and see the people and the faces that are in our lives every day and really remember not to taking them for granted,” Ryan explained.
“I was talking to Alex on the phone two months ago, and that was amazing then, just like that, he was gone.”

Ryan said that Alex had wanted him to appear on “one of those shows he had coming up,” but “I was shooting in Atlanta and was unable to do it. When you speak with people like that, that you grew up watching and suddenly you are talking to them on the phone, you start to reflect.”
“Tomorrow is not a given,” Ryan emphasized.

“Hug them tight, the people in your life. It was really shocking and sad,” Ryan went on. “Obviously, he was sick and it wasn’t totally, wildly unexpected. It’s still heartbreaking nonetheless. It’s absolutely gut-wrenching.”
Our thoughts are with Alex’s friends, family, and loved ones during this difficult time.
