During these difficult times it’s so awesome to see celebrities making donations and raising awareness to important issues, which is something Rachael Ray is doing in a major way, according to an article posted on her website .
Information about the coronavirus pandemic is rapidly changing and Diply is committed to providing the most recent data as it becomes available. Some of the information in this story may have changed since publication, and we encourage readers to use online resources from CDC and WHO to stay up to date on the latest information surrounding COVID-19.
Rachael just announced she would be donating $4 million through her two charities, The Rachael Ray Foundation and Yum-O!
Half of the donation will be through Yum-O and will focus on feeding and nutritional programs like Feeding America, while the other half through The Rachael Ray Foundation will support care animal welfare programs like the Best Friends Animal Society.
Rachael discussed the importance of these donations on her website.
“My overall goal with these donations is to support American families affected during the COVID-19 crisis with assistance for two-legged and four-legged family members,” she wrote.
Rachael pointed out that many of these organizations have faced a decline in donations due to the cancellation of school events, fundraisers, etc.

“We felt it was important to help offset the decline in donations organizations have experienced, from a combination of the cancelation of fundraising events and reduced private donations.”
“We have been at this for a decade, and I never wanted to ask people to donate to the philanthropies I personally care about so we have always directed portions of the proceeds from the sale of many of our products — from pet food to pots and pans — to charitable giving.”
This is an amazing donation that I’m sure will help so many people who are struggling in these tough times that we’re in. Hopefully even more celebrities follow suit!
