In this life, you should expect the unexpected . You seriously never know when you’re going to find a super cool yet random thing while in the middle of your travels .
Even if you don’t find anything unexpected today, you can still take a look at this list. I’m willing to bet you can’t guess everything that’ll be in here.
“The remote to our new Christmas lights has timer options for 6 hrs, 8hrs, and…6,639 hours?”
I’m not really sure why you’d ever need your Christmas lights to stay on for exactly 6639 hours, but I guess it’s a good option to have? Worst case scenario, you just never use it.
“Perhaps the most wholesome vandalism I have personally encountered.”
You know what? Those googly eyes actually make the geode look better. Sure, it was already a giant hunk of pretty rock, but now it’s a funny face, too. It looks like something out of a kid’s cartoon.
“An oddly long fry in my Burger King DoorDash order..”
You know what I always say? Never look a gift fry in the mouth. That long French fry may be abnormal, but it’s also delicious. After all, it’s a fry, so it’s automatically one of the best things ever.
“The Christmas Moose has arrived. Humans for scale.”
I guess if you live in Richmond, B.C. (Canada), then you probably expect to see the giant Christmas moose every year. But for the rest of us, it’s just a big, sparkly moose that I’d never expect to see.
Think it’s life-sized? Pretty close, anyway.
“I got to hold about $10,000 worth of platinum today. It’s heavier than it looks.”
I feel like there are very few professions or circumstances that would lead you to be able to hold $10k in platinum. But I’m glad someone out there got to do it. Now I don’t have to wonder what it’d look like.
“One AAA truck rescuing another AAA truck.”
AAA is really helpful whenever you have a flat tire or something. But I guess even AAA trucks need help from time to time. And who else would they call but… AAA?
“Amazon shipped an empty package to me.”
When you order from Amazon, you kind of expect them to give you what you paid for. But sometimes… they don’t. Time to contact customer service and spend valuable time trying to sort it out…
“Crushed Pineapple.”
So, if a can that’s filled with crushed pineapple gets crushed, does that mean the pineapple is double crushed? Or is it still the same amount of crushed, and we get nothing but a funny visual pun?
“The plastic seal on our bread from Tesco has a picture of a seal on it.”
Even though a seal is different from a seal, they’re both spelled the same. So when you look at that seal, you may think of a seal, or maybe you’re thinking of a seal instead. I promise you, you probably aren’t as confused as I am now.
“This axe left on top of a frozen creek, now an inch under ice.”
Don’t you just hate it when your ax gets stuck in between two layers of a frozen creek? Now you have to wait until spring to get it back. It may be under water by then, but that’s just how it goes sometimes.
“Decomposing jean pants I found on the job yesterday.”
It’s amazing what kinds of things people will leave behind in the most random of places. You just know that these jeans were there for a long time, and since they’re made of cotton, no wonder they started decomposing.

Usually, when my grandparents want to gift me something, it’s either money or some candy. This… is definitely unexpected. I’d take this as a subtle hint that grandma thinks you should’ve been a surgeon.

I have to assume that these stairs were built like this on purpose. Like, this shadow is too cool to just be a coincidence. Either way, it’s totally unexpected, but so amazing! Like a fun little surprise.

It kind of makes you wonder when that cart was put there. I guess sometime in the past 20 years. Or 30 years? Man, you never know what to expect when you go through abandoned buildings.

I can’t believe this is just a puddle. It looks like a really pretty painting. Like, the way the water is reflecting on the top part of the concrete makes it look more like cherry blossoms or something. So pretty!
“Today on my morning walk I encountered a fog bow.”
I’ve seen rainbows, I’ve seen moonbows. But this is my first time seeing a fog bow. Honestly… it kind of just looks like a rainbow. But like, without all the pretty colors and stuff.
“I found a real Aleve tablet in my generic brand pill container.”
Um, excuse me. This is a generic pill container. There’s no room for fancy, real Aleve in there! Who does this generic brand think it is?
Seriously, though, that’s just weird.
“This airplane designed to look like a whale.”
I’m not going to lie, the fact that the plane is designed like a whale, one of nature’s heaviest creatures, isn’t doing much to make me confident in it. I bet it can’t even get off the ground.
“I dropped a piece of half cooked pasta in the sink last night and it landed upright on end.”
I guess that piece of pasta wasn’t cooked enough to go completely limp, but was still cooked enough that it would stick to things. And thus, upright noodle was born!
“A tree stump in my yard grew four different types of fungi.”
I’m no fungus expert, so I wouldn’t be trying to eat any of these. But imagine if they were all edible? You’d have a whole mushroom buffet on a single tree stump! Weird, but cool.
“This backhoe going through the Tim Hortons drive-thru.”
I guess this construction worker forgot to get his daily Timmies before starting work. Better late than never. And better on a backhoe than trying to navigate a drive thru by foot (or walking all the way in and then back out again, I guess).
“A bottle of Crown Royal from 1972 that I received as a tip from a customer. He bought after the Canada vs. USSR game.”
This is definitely an… unexpected tip. Especially since it’s such a vintage bottle of whisky. You’d think this customer would want to save the bottle for something a little more special.
“The sweetest carrots I’ve ever seen.”
I’ve seen carrots that look like they have legs (and arms, too, sometimes), but never a pair that looks like they’re hugging. It almost feels cruel to chop them up and put them in a soup.
“Found on the back of a frame.”
Oh good, glad the frame cleared it up. It was made on Earth. We probably won’t ever know where on Earth, but at least it wasn’t made on, like, Mars or something. What a relief.
“This overflowing crack in the brickwork where the ants deposit their dead.”
I can tell you with full confidence that the last thing I expected to see today was an ant graveyard. To be honest, this is kind of creepy. But I guess ants have to put their dead somewhere .
“I peeled back the packaging on my Barbie themed tube of lip balm and discovered JoJo Siwa packaging underneath.”
To be honest, if I thought I was getting Barbie lip balm and it ended up actually being JoJo Siwa branded, I’d be pretty cheesed. Barbie and JoJo are two very different people, after all.
“The way the cardboard packaging from a smart vacuum looks like an ancient mask when mounted on a wall.”
Well, if you’re too cheap or lazy to decorate your home, just keep all the packaging from your appliances and cleaning items. There’s bound to be a few cool things that almost look like real decor.
“A fake Prada store in the West Texas desert, never open for business.”
I’m not really sure why this needed to be a thing, but I guess I have no choice but to accept it. It looks like a lot of effort was put into this Prada store that was never meant to see the light of day.
“I saw Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Pricilla Chan, at McDonald’s.”
I’ve never seen a famous or well-known person before, but if I did, I probably wouldn’t expect it to be Mark Zuckerberg. Or his wife. There are, like, 800 people I’d expect to see in public before I’d expect them.
“Found a cherry printed on my Skittle instead of an S.”
I guess the factory that makes these Skittles makes other things. But the real question is, what candy has cherries stamped on them? Is it even from a different candy to begin with?
