You know when you’re watching a movie or a show and you can’t help but think about how perfect the casting is? Like, there are just some roles that are so amazing, you couldn’t picture them played by anyone else.
Reddit users were asked, ” which actors were BORN for their role? ” I’m not gonna lie, I have a hard time arguing with any of these.
“Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man.”

One commenter added, “Even Stan Lee said this in an interview; Robert Downey Jr is the real life representation of the Tony Stark character in his mind while he was conceptualizing and writing Iron Man. That it’s like he was born to play Tony Stark.”
“Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley.”

“Especially amusing given that the role, all the roles, were entirely empty suits,” one commenter wrote. “No gender, age, or ethnicity specified.”
So basically, they chose the absolute best person to be Ripley and it shows.
“Leonard Nimoy (Spock).”

“Leonard Nimoy didn’t just define Spock, he defined an entire alien race comprised of hundreds of actors spanning a half century of TV and movies,” a user commented.
Needless to say, the late actor’s legacy isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
“Frank Reynolds, Danny DeVito.”

One commenter said, “I like how he has an Oscar. He is Hollywood famous. He has [expletive] made it. Time to crawl out of this sofa naked and sweaty as a gag.”
I think that’s called range.
“Ian McKellen as Gandalf.”

My secret shame is that I’ve never actually seen The Lord of the Rings or any of its sequels. But even I think of Sir Ian McKellen as the guy who played Gandalf. That’s how iconic the role is.
“Arnold Schwarzenegger as The Terminator.”

See, Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator isn’t just big buff guy playing big buff robot guy. Like, could you actually see any other person playing this role? Yeah, didn’t think so.
“Tim Curry as Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. So good!”

Tim Curry is one of those actors who really embodies every single role he does. It would be really hard to see anyone else fill those roles, but this one especially.
“Hugh Laurie as Dr. House, that man embodies the character and no one could have done it better.”

Hugh Laurie was so good as Gregory House that to this day, I forget that he’s British. And, uh, not that mean.
“Nick Offerman as Ron Swanson.”

“For Ron Swanson, they had Duke play Sax because Nick showed up on set with a sax to play. When they needed a workshop for the 1st season episode about the city code, he offered up his personal workshop. They even cast his actual wife as his crazy ex.”
“James Gandolfini = Tony Soprano.”

Tony Soprano may not be the only TV mob boss to exist, but James Gandolfini was the only person who could portray Tony Soprano. You literally can’t convince me otherwise on that.
“Matthew Lillard for the Role of Shaggy.”

Meanwhile, Matthew Lillard defined Shaggy Rogers for an entire different generation. Seriously. He was so perfectly cast in the 2002 Scooby-Doo movie that he became Shaggy’s official voice actor, too!
“Catherine O’Hara as Moira Rose.”

One of the best characters in a show where every character is really, really good. All I can say is she’s changed the way I pronounce the word “baby” for the rest of my life.
“Jack Black as Dewey Finn in School Of Rock.”

I’ve personally seen School of Rock more times than I’m willing to admit, and I have to say it really felt like watching Jack Black play a movie version of himself.
“Sylvester Stallone as Rocky Balboa.”

“The Rocky movies are fascinating because every one of them is a parallel to Stallone life at the time,” someone wrote in a comment. It really feels like Stallone was born to be Rocky Balboa.
“Meryl Streep Devil Wears Prada.”

I would argue Meryl Streep in literally everything , but The Devil Wears Prada especially. I literally can’t see any other actor doing it like she did when she played the evil Miranda Priestly.
“Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor.”

Just like Schwarzenegger as the Terminator himself, Linda Hamilton was the perfect Sarah Connor. In fact, I think anyone could argue that The Terminator is one of those movies that seems perfectly cast all around.
“Kathy Bates as Annie Wilkes in Misery.”

From all accounts, she’s a pretty nice lady. But she also scared an entire generation with this role, so…
According to one Redditor, “Stephen King himself said she ‘absolutely inhabited’ that role, which is a perfect description.”
“Tom Hanks – Forrest Gump.”

I’ve seen so many Tom Hanks movies, but in every one that I watch, all I see is Forrest Gump. I legit don’t think anyone else could’ve been nearly as impactful in that role as he was.
“Bryan Cranston as Walter White.”

I remember when this show was first announced and people were raising their eyebrows at the dad from Malcom in the Middle playing a meth dealer. But Cranston really proved us all wrong there.
“Kelsey Grammar as Dr. Frasier Crane.”

I mean, Frasier Crane was such a popular character on Cheers that he got his own spinoff. If that doesn’t tell you everything you need to know, then I don’t know what will.
