It’s a sad day for fans of the beloved children’s cartoon Charlie Brown, as the actor who originally voiced the curious child, Peter Robbins, has passed away, as reported by People .
Peter brought the comic strip character to life in well-loved holiday specials like A Charlie Brown Christmas , A Boy Named Charlie Brown and It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

Peter’s family confirmed the news to Fox 5 San Diego, saying he died by suicide.
The families have asked for privacy during this difficult time as they continue to grieve and told the network they plan to hold a memorial later this year.
In addition for his voice work in “Charlie Brown” Peter’s career also includes the comedy “Blondie” anduest spots in “The Munsters”, “Get Smart” and “The Donna Reed Show.”
As per Fox 5, Peter stepped away from acting in 1972.
Fox 5 journalist Phil Blauer had been close friends with Peter for 25 years and told the station the actor will be dearly missed by those who loved him, and Charlie Brown.
“Rest in peace Charlie Brown, say hi to Linus for me up in heaven,” he said, as per People .
Phil also took to his social media accounts to pay tribute to his friend.
“My heart is broken today,” he tweeted. “I just found out that my good friend #PeterRobbins, the original voice of #CharlieBrown has died. May he rest in peace and soar in heaven . I only hope he finally kicks the football among the angels.”
Since the news broke, fans have taken to social media to remember this iconic voice actor.
It’s comforting to know fans will be able to remember Peter’s voice in his TV specials every holiday season.
