The Met Gala is one of the most elusive invitations ever . You can be one of the biggest celebrities in the world, but unless you’re invited by a designer to be their guest, you can count yourself out of the running for a ticket.
Of course, at such a high-fashion event, there’s sure to be some head-turning outfits, and Ms. Kim Kardashain gave us the most jaw-dropping one of the night.

If we know anything about Kim Kardashian it’s that she loves fashion.
I personally much prefer her 2010’s style — leopard-print everything, Herve Leger bandage dresses, Valentino rockstud heels, statement scarves, and of course, insanely oversized Louis Vuitton handbags that she matched with bestie Paris Hilton.
In fact, even people who aren’t major fans of Kim are insanely interested in what crazy outfit she decides to wear.
I mean, after all, why wouldn’t we be?
Why wouldn’t you want to have an opinion on what a multi-millionaire is wearing?
These days, a lot of Kim’s outfits have been picked out by super chic stylists and/or her (now) ex-husband Kanye West.
Her sense of style now is very monochromatic, clean and the kind of fashion-forward that just doesn’t make sense to us normal people.
And where is one place you can always be sure to see Kim (or any celeb really) doing the MOST?
That would be the Met Gala.
Partially because no one ever follows the theme, and partially because celebs take the opportunity to go absolutely insane when it comes to their clothes.
Kim’s latest look is something I thought I’d only have a fever dream about because she looks like my sleep paralysis demon…
That’s right, the 40-year-old’s 2021 Met Gala look truly looked like something out of a horror film.
Though let’s be real, I’m sure the garment costs more than my whole house.
Kim worked with Georgian designer Demna Gvasalia to create this all black, faceless piece that has gone viral 10 times over.
Essentially, all fans could see of Kim was her insanely long ponytail.
And then came the memes. Oh boy, did they flood in fast …
There is actually no limit to the amount of comparisons you can make with this out of this world outfit.
Who knows, maybe she just took the COVID face mask precaution really seriously and said “You know what? I’m covering my WHOLE BODY in a mask! “
For all you *Harry Potter* fans out there, this one is my absolute favorite.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a meme that is both so funny and so on point all at the same time.
This is why I’m on the internet: for exactly this reason.
And of course, the mental health memes also made an appearance.
It’s not really viral until 1) a meme is made and 2) a meme about mental health is made.
It’s just the way the internet works people. You can’t change it.
Let’s just say we’re so thankful to Kim and to Demna Gvasalia for creating such an iconic piece that we will get jokes from for days to come.
