Nicole Kidman is so classy. She is like, the epitome of class. She is one of the few Hollywood actresses that deserves the praise she receives.
So when I heard that Ms. Kidman was “sushed” and swatted at while attending the opera last month, I could hardly believe it, I mean, I could believe it because, hello this world is crazy, but I at least thought Nicole Kidman should be spared from the madness!
Let’s take a look at this crazy story, shall we?
While I’ve never attended the opera (do I look like a millionaire?) I’ve heard a thing or two about it.

Of course, my knowledge is based solely on films and TV shows that have taken place at the opera, but I digress.
I know that it is important to be quiet, even if you’re confused by the plot.
I know that it is important to hold applause until the end of a performance.
And, I know that it is important to show your thanks to the performers by giving them a standing ovation at the end of the production!
However, it seems that memo was missed for some opera goers in Australia last month!

According to The Sydney Morning Herald police had to be called after Nicole Kidman was “swatted at” by an angry theater patron!
That’s right, SWATTED AT!
The publication reports that Nicole and husband Keith Urban were attending a performance of “The Merry Widow” when the drama went down.
The pair, and the rest of the audience, stood up to clap for the cast at the end of the show. All was normal until the people behind them got angry with their standing ovation and demanded they sit back down, The Sydney Morning Herald reports.
When Keith refused because he was celebrating the performers, the opera fan allegedly swatted Nicole with his program.
I can’t believe this! I have it on good authority that Nicole’s face probably looked like this when it happened:

Keith accused him of assaulting Nicole and called over their bodyguards to take his wide and her mum, Janelle, out of the venue. The news outlet reports Nicole was “visibly upset” by the altercation.
Police media confirm officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command were called to the Opera House that night following reports of an argument.
The statement read: “Police have been told a 53-year-old man and a 67-year-old man were both attending the entertainment centre when an argument broke out.”
“Officers spoke to both men and no further action was taken,” NSW Police continued in the statement.
I can’t imagine swatting my program at anyone, especially not a high-profile celebrity — I don’t need that kind of bad press!
