Over the past two-and-a-half years, the COVID-19 pandemic has thrown a proverbial wrench into the ongoings of everyday life — not the least of which resulted in some of our favorite TV shows being put on an indefinite pause.
Now, after nearly two full years, fans of the hit black comedy series, Dead to Me , have cause for celebration . Netflix has indeed confirmed that the show will be returning for a third and final season, due to air sometime this fall .
The confirmation came on Tuesday, May 3rd, which not-so-coincidentally happens to be the third anniversary of the series premiere.

Both Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini are poised to reprise their roles, and fans are also eagerly anticipating the return of Katey Segal — who was introduced in Season 2.
Liz Feldman has revealed that Season 3 will reflect the current state of the world.
In an interview with Devdiscourse, Liz explained “There was a certain point when we were in production on Season 2 when the end of the show came to me, pretty profoundly, so I realized, ‘ I know the story that I have to tell’ and Season 3 feels like the right time to do that .”
