Neil Diamond has one of those iconic names that immediately brings happy thoughts to your head. With a career that has lasted over 60 YEARS, Neil is a fixture in pop culture.
He is also one of those artists who has a song even the YOUNG kids know, which is of course , “Longfellow Serenade.”
Just kidding, it’s “SWEET CAROLINE”!
Neil Diamond has been a fixture in music since the 1960s.
There’s no denying the singer/songwriter and actor deserves every single ounce of praise I’m about to give him, which is saying a lot because I don’t tend to praise very many people!
Having sold over 100 million albums, it seems I’m not the only one who adores the musician!
Now, Neil is celebrating his 81st birthday!

Born in Brooklyn, New York, on January 24, 1941, Neil would one day launch into a career that is highly regarded as one of the most successful in music history.
With hits like “Cracklin’ Rosie,” “Song Sung Blue,” “I’ve Been This Way Before,” “If You Know What I Mean,” “Desirée,” “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers,” and “America” it’s easy to see how the 80-year-old has gained millions of fans worldwide.
In honor of Neil’s birthday, I have a gorgeous little fun fact for you!
In 2019, “Sweet Caroline” was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the National Recording Registry for being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”
Now that’s the sign of a true legend! I can’t imagine baseball games without belting out some SWEEEEEEET CAROLINE!
Thank you for all the music, Neil, and happy birthday!
