As parents, we all want to know we’re doing the best we can for our children, and 99% of the time, we are. We live in a world where information is at our fingertips and if we have any questions about what’s going on with our kids, we can Google.
Most of the time, something seems so normal you don’t even think to Google it, you just think it will pass.
However, in the rare time that something is bigger than we could have imagined, it’s always best to let other parents know, which is exactly what one Australian mom is doing.
Children often have small marks or scars on them from itching, scratching, or bug bites.
While they’re often nothing to write home about, an Australian mom recently learned these marks can be deadly.
Because of social media, parents are learning more valuable information than ever before, which is exactly why mom Shani Martin is sharing her story.
Speaking with Tiny Hearts Education, the mom explained what happened to her young daughter.
When Shani first noticed the mark on her daughter’s arm, she could have easily brushed it off as allergies or a scratch.
However, when she saw that the mark was spreading up her daughter’s arm, her maternal instincts kicked in and she took her daughter to the doctor.
As reported by the New York Post, medical professionals told Shani that her daughter had a serious skin infection, and that strange red line was a tracking line.
The infection, known as lymphangitis, was spreading throughout the body and making its way to the lymphatic system.
Thankfully, the condition can be cured quickly if noticed early on and treated with antibiotics.
However, if left untreated , the condition can worsen and lead to all sorts of health complications.
Now, Shani is sharing the story on Tiny Hearts Education, alongside photos of her daughter’s infection to warn other parents.
We’re so glad Shani’s daughter is okay and is back to her normal, healthy self!
Many parents were quick to leave comments of gratitude on the Tiny Hearts Instagram post.
” @tinyheartseducation thanks for spreading the word! So glad you have this platform to help others and have such an impact,” wrote one parent.
“This page is legit the best!” said another.
