It’s hard for parents to raise their children in this modern world with the widespread technological advancement. Children are exposed at an early age to the harsh realities of the world, and every parent would do whatever they believe is right to protect their child.
A TikTok user, Tara Huck , went viral for her series on parenting, where she listed some popular practices as a no-no in her home. The no sleepover rule in the fifth video caused the most uproar recently.
Scroll down to hear what she said.
Why Huck Doesn’t Like Sleepovers
Huck explained that children are at their most vulnerable when sleeping, so she’d never let her son or daughter sleep outside their home. When asked about their ages, the mother of two declined to respond.
However, her follow-up comment on giving them leeway as they grew older and became teenagers suggested the duo are pre-teens. Knowing she received backlash, Huck made more videos explaining herself and responding to “important” comments.
“A lot of y’all are asking me very specific questions about my children and they will not be answered! I do no put my children on my social media and they will not be [there].”
Support From TikTok Users
Since she refused her children to go to sleepovers, Huck confessed that she doesn’t host them to avoid being hypocritical. Some users supported her choice even though many people acted like the first time they learned Santa wasn’t real.
One person said his father didn’t allow him to attend sleepovers or church camps because “perverts hide in churches.” Another person thanked Huck for giving her a lot to think about traditions that could turn into nightmares.
Unpopular Meal Ideas
Huck’s controversial opinions started with the viral trend, “Start a Riot,” where she shared three unpopular opinions. Having addressed the sleepover part, TikTok users couldn’t understand her choice to withhold food from her children if they didn’t like what she was eating.
When someone chastised Huck, saying she should let her children make what they like, she retorted, “who says they don’t?”
Other users stitched her video and made responses, including Trauma Mama below, who said Huck was traumatizing her children.
It’s Not Abusive To Train Children To Eat All Food

Huck also got supporters for her meal comment, as someone said she’d make the children try the food before accepting their decision not to eat it. Then, she’d serve them a bowl of cereal or Peanut Butter and Jelly because food is necessary.
One user defended Huck, saying it’s not abusive to train children not to be picky eaters. She added, “Food is Fuel, you eat what we make.”
The only exception is allergy.
