Moms of the world have to put up with a lot of crap . They’re constantly being told what to do, what not to do, and everything else in between.
Recently, a Reddit user/new mother was publically shamed by a man for breastfeeding. Only this time, she decided to speak up and clap right back at him.
Reddit user nipple-shirt is a 26-year-old new mother.

Recently, the new mother was invited by her best friend for a leisurely day out. The friend also invited her own boyfriend, as well as his best friend along for the ride.
After they all ate lunch together, they decided to go for a walk through the park.

It was at this time that the new mom’s baby started to get fussy, signaling that it was time to feed. The mom sat down on a bench and proceeded to nurse her baby.
The rest of the group was off doing their own thing, so the new mother volunteered to watch their bags.

After a few minutes, the boyfriend’s bestie made his way over to the bench to get something out of his backpack. When he noticed that the mother was breastfeeding, he recoiled in shock.
“He made a face and demanded I stop feeding because he didn’t consent to seeing my nipples,” the mother explained.
The new mom was taken aback by the friend’s response but apologized nonetheless. She explained that the whole reason why she was sitting out of view was so that she could feed as privately as possible.
“He started insulting me and getting louder, and I got really embarrassed,” the mom said via Reddit post.

After the verbal tirade was over, the new mom quietly got up and walked away. Feeling incredibly awkward, she informed her friend that she was going home and that she’d speak to her at another point in time.
A few weeks later, the new mom was headed out to her friend’s 26th birthday party.
Among the party guests included were her friend’s boyfriend, as well as his friend who had previously been rude to the new mom in the park. As soon as the rude friend noticed the new mom, he rolled his eyes audibly.
Once the alcohol started to flow, the rude friend once again started throwing digs at the new mom.

Despite the rude behavior, the new mom kept her cool and ignored him. Shortly thereafter, the boyfriend challenged his rude friend to an arm-wrestling contest and won. “He started getting a little angry and asked for a rematch. He then ripped his shirt off, and started flexing to prepare,” she said.”
Seeing this blatant display of machismo grossed the new mom out. The rude friend noticed and asked “What crawled up your ass?”
” I got a little mad and responded, ‘please put your shirt back on. I didn’t consent to seeing your nipples’,” the new mom said. The rude friend then told her that it didn’t work that way, since he himself was a guy.
The new mom asked the rude friend how it was different, and he once again rolled his eyes.

The new mom kindly asked the rude friend to put on his shirt for a second time. It was at this point that he proceeded to call her a bitchy crazed feminist, and an all-out asshole.
To make matters worse, her friend chimed in to say that she was overreacting and needed to calm down.
Thankfully, the new mom’s fellow Reddit users felt differently.
“I find it enraging that your friend or her boyfriend or no one else seems to have stuck up for you,” a fellow Reddit user said.
Others pointed out how this type of behavior is illegal in certain places.

“Where I live it’s illegal to stop a woman from breastfeeding in public. You can literally nurse your baby anywhere and no one can tell you to stop,” Reddit user alexisdr said.
Breastfeeding isn’t sexual and it’s high time that we stopped viewing it in this manner. This is precisely the type of behavior that coined the phrase “toxic masculinity.”
