America is facing unprecedented times in the wake of President-Elect Joe Biden’s succession into power.
Rioters stormed Capitol Hill and broke into the building on Wednesday, January 6 while President Trump continues to claim the election was “stolen” from him.
While Joe Biden was first to ask the rioters to go home, some felt he wasn’t harsh enough on those trying to taint the democratic process.
As you may have seen, future president of the United States, Joe Biden, called upon the Capitol Hill rioters to leave the property on January 6.
“At this hour, our democracy’s under unprecedented assault, unlike anything we’ve seen in modern times. An assault on the citadel of liberty, the Capitol itself,” Joe said, speaking from Delaware.
“This is not dissent, it’s disorder. It’s chaos. It borders on sedition, and it must end now. I call on this mob to pull back and allow the work of democracy to go forward,” he continued.
“Like so many other Americans, I am genuinely shocked and saddened that our nation, so long the beacon of light and hope for democracy, has come to such a dark moment.”
“Through war and strife, America’s endured much,” the president-elect said. “And we will endure here and we will prevail again and we’ll prevail now.”
While Joe’s words were calm and collected, some supporters felt he wasn’t being harsh enough on those storming the Capitol.
One of those Biden supporters hoping for more was Hollywood legend Michael Keaton.
Taking to Twitter, the actor called out Joe Biden’s response in a series of candid tweets addressing the siege on Capitol Hill.
If you didn’t already know, Michael Keaton is not one to hold back on social media, like when he spoke for *many* CNN viewers when he called for the firing of Rick Santorum.
“Hey CNN – Just fire this guy already,” he tweeted .
Michael then went on to address Biden’s speech, saying it wasn’t what he was hoping to hear at all.
“Hey Joe- truly love you and that speech wasn’t even close to what I wanted to hear,” the actor started .
“Everyone coddled this punk for four years and now they’re coddling these terrorists- [expletive] them!”
He continued: “Also REMEMBER EVERY ONE of the seditionists-senators and representatives ALSO pursue EVERY legal path.”
The actor didn’t stop there, continuing on with a series of tweets attacking the hypocrisy at Capitol Hill.
“What the police DIDN’T do today was shocking,” he wrote.
Many fans replied to Michael’s tweet, commending him for speaking out against these domestic terrorists.
“I get why Joe wanted to strike a ‘disappointed dad’ tone but it also infantilizes a group of people who are far too used to getting away with really poisoning our country. Keaton’s right for sure,” replied @KillByKillPod.
The conversation quickly transitioned to the actor’s upcoming return to the *Batman* franchise.
“Wiser words couldn’t have been said by anyone other than you, Batman!” praised one fan.
“As you well know, criminals are a superstitious, cowardly lot,” joked another.
He went on to call Republican senator Josh Hawley a “stain” on America’s history, before calling out his improper grammar.
“Irregardless” is just one of those words that like to sneak up on people, isn’t it?!
It’s clear where Michael stands on the ongoing political mess at the Capitol, now it’s time for you to weigh in!
