Michael Jordan is one of the most well-known athletes in sports history. Hell, he is one of the most well-known athletes in human history I mean — who doesn’t know who Michael Jordan is? Who didn’t binge-watch The Last Dance on Netflix last year?
Well, as it turns out, Mr. Jordan is just a great athlete, he’s a great person, too!
Now, the former professional athlete is making a sizeable donation to open medical clinics in his home state.
According to TMZ, Michael has made a large donation to the non-profit health care group Novant Health in North Carolina.
His $10 million donation will go towards building two new medical clinics.
Novant said in a statement that the athlete’s donation will help provide “comprehensive primary care, including behavioral health and social support services, to the area’s most vulnerable communities.”
This is not the first time Michael has made a large donation to open health clinics for those in need.
Back in 2017, he donated $7 million for a similar project.
The two new clinics are set to open in 2022.
“Everyone should have access to quality health care, no matter where they live, or whether or not they have insurance,” he said in a statement.
“Wilmington holds a special place in my heart and it’s truly gratifying to be able to give back to the community that supported me throughout my life,” he concluded .
What an amazing gesture!
