MCU fans received yet another early Christmas present in the form of the first teaser trailer for James Gunn’s The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 . Among the many memorable moments, fans were left scratching their heads at the inclusion of Gamora.
Having been believed to be dead at the hands of Thanos, Gamora’s sudden reappearance does raise plenty of questions for the highly-anticipated fan-favorite franchise. While many ponder how the daughter of the Mad Titan will be reintroduced to the team, others delight at her return.
After Months Of Anticipation, Marvel Has Finally Released The Trailer For ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3’.

The action-packed trailer didn’t disappoint and contained several memorable moments that left Marvel fans feeling giddy — including an image of Baby Rocket, the first appearance of Will Poulter as Adam Warlock, and… the return of Gamora?
No, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you. Somehow, some way, the daughter of the Mad Titan appears to be alive and well and is back with her merry band of miscreants attempting to once again guard the galaxy against the threat of annihilation.
You’re Probably Thinking, “Wait, Isn’t Gamora Supposed To Be Dead?”
In short, the answer is “yes.” Back in Avengers: Infinity War , while attempting to retrieve the Soul Stone from Vormir, Thanos is informed by Red Skull that the only way to procure it is to make a sacrifice — you must first lose that which you love.
Upon hearing this news, Gamora believes his journey to be a failure. After all, you can’t lose what you love when you love nothing, she reasons with him. With tears streaking his cheeks, Thanos grabs his adoptive daughter by the arm and throws her from a cliff to her death.
Gamora Does Make An Appearance In ‘Avengers: Endgame’, Thanks To A Time Heist Orchestrated By Bruce Banner And Tony Stark.

Here, the Guardians once again encounter their fallen teammate, but it’s a past version of herself — one with no memory of the Guardians or of her true love, Peter Quill aka “Star-Lord.”
At the end of Avengers: Endgame , all of the Avengers gather for Tony Stark’s funeral, but Gamora is nowhere to be found. This led many fans to believe that she had simply been returned to her original timeline after the time heist was completed.
“Are We Getting Soul World Gamora Or That Alternate Timeline Gamora From ‘End Game’?”
“How? Gamora is dead we all saw it ,” Tweeted @Sky80072155.
Gamora’s appearance is made all the more confusing in the wake of Marvel’s incredibly well-done, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. Gamora is nowhere to be seen, much to the dismay of Quill, so Drax and Mantis are compelled to cheer him up by giving him his first Christmas in decades.
While it’s clear that James Gunn will have plenty of questions to answer with what has been confirmed as the final chapter in The Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, I’m most interested to see Rocket’s origin story and find out why he’s hugging that adorable otter.
