Today I come bearing wonderful news for all of us Law & Order: SVU fans. It has not been an easy road to get here. It has been, in fact, very hard.
After two long decades of watching this series, fans might get the TV relationship they’ve been hoping and praying for since the world first laid eyes on Olivia Benson and Elliot Stalber togther .
Speaking with Drew Barrymore, Mariska revealed some incredibly exciting news for fans.
As it turns out, Drew is also a big fan of the crime show because well… she is the best. I have to say, I’m not surprised at all that Ms. Barrymore is right there with the rest of us!
After discussing the major accomplishment of Mariska’s Olivia Benson being the longest-running female character in a TV drama, the two got down to the nitty gritty.
“No one will forgive me if I don’t ask about Christopher Meloni,” Drew said . “What is going to happen? He’s back, the kiss still hasn’t happened.”
“We’re all hanging, talk about coitus, like, tantric, it’s not coitus — that was the wrong word.”
“I’m getting nervous about hoitus toitus,” Mariska joked back.
Drew then pointed out that fans of the series have been waiting for 25 LONG years!
“I’m going to text him (Meloni) today and say, ‘How do you feel hoitus coitus?'” Mariska said.
“Listen, we’re trying to figure it out, what to do. We’re really trying to figure out what to do. We’ve done hoitus coitus,” she continued.
Drew then pointed out that Chris’ character is single after the death of his wife Kathy.

“He is free, and I think he’s got eyes for me,” Mariska responded.
“But Olivia Benson is hurt! I mean, he left me in a lurch for 10 years. She’s frightened. The energy’s there,” Mariska said.
“Olivia’s been in love with him for many a year.”
She continued: “And I think that we are slowly finding our way back to it, but I want to give him the amount of time he needs to grieve Kathy Stabler.”
Romantic and respectful? We truly couldn’t ask for more from our dream duo!
While many details about the new season are still in the works, it’s nice to know they’ve got the fans in mind.
