Kirstie Alley is calling out long-time friend and notable journalist Katie Couric after disagreeing with her stance on conservatives.
Kirstie has been a vocal supporter of Donald Trump since the beginning of his presidency and has continued to call out liberals on social media.
Now, the actress is calling out her friend of 35 years on Twitter.
There’s no denying that tensions are running high as Joe Biden takes his seat in the White House this week.
Family members, friends, and fans have had a lot to say about American’s current political climate, and celebrities are no different.
Taking to social media is a popular way to air these grievances.
As you may have heard, television journalist Katie Couric made some strong remarks about Trump voters earlier this month.

She alluded to Trump voters that stormed the capitol as cult members who need to be reprogrammed.
Katie made the controversial comments while chatting on *Real Time with Bill Maher*, according to *The Washington Times.*
The conversation started with Bill saying he worries more about the “loons” in Congress than the Trump supporters who stormed the U.S. Capitol earlier this month.
“Because I mean, what do you do about these people?” Bill asked.

“There’s 147 Republicans in Congress who still don’t concede that Trump lost the election. What do you do about people who are in the government who don’t believe in our way of government?”
“It is so shocking,” Katie responded.

“Not only are they not conceding, Bill, but there are thoughts that there might have been some collusion among members of Congress, some are refusing to go through magnetometers or whatever you call them to check for weapons, they’re not wearing masks during the siege.”
“I mean, it’s really bizarre, isn’t it, when you think about how AWOL so many of these members of Congress have gotten.”
“But I also think some of them are believing the garbage that they are being fed 24/7 on the internet, by their constituents, and they bought into this big lie,” she added.
“And the question is how are we going to really almost deprogram these people who have signed up for the cult of Trump.”
Now, Katie’s long-time friend, Kirstie Alley, is slamming the journalist for her remarks on Twitter.
This is far from the first time the Cheers actress has taken to social media to defend former President Trump.
“Wow @katiecouric we’ve known each other for 35 years but if U really think I need to be deprogrammed along with 80 million conservatives ur gonna need to organize massive deprogrammers,” she started.
“Curious who they would be. Shrinks or Nazis? I hear both were good at it, yet still failed,” Kirstie concluded .
Yikes.
Early that same day, Kirstie had alluded to Katie’s comments in another series of tweets.
“It’s not new to call people who disagree with you CULTS… Christianity was called a cult for 300 years. Using the word CULT is the buzzword to create fear,” she tweeted.
The 70-year-old continued her red-hot rant with a remark about how she’s been handling her anger.
“I AM Trying to stay calm and just observe.. clearly I’ve not yet mastered that… practice makes perfect… :)” she tweeted .
Kirstie’s final message of the day was a tweet saying that she was going fishing.
“I don’t fish but I like to spot dolphins…” she tweeted .
