Killing Eve has been one of the BBC’s smash hits since it started its run in 2018, and it’s easy to see why. This funny, suspenseful, and smart thriller staring Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh is fun to watch and even more fun to talk about, and that’s a credit to the writers’ team.
The writers have come under scrutiny after one shared a picture of the virtual writers’ room.

Kayleigh Llewellyn, one of the writers for the show, shared this tweet.
Though the tweet has now been deleted, it initially read “it’s the final day of the Killing Eve writers room,” alongside a screenshot of a Zoom call between all the writers.
However, fans were quick to point out that every writer was white.
Fans expressed their displeasure on social media.
“Killing Eve having an asian lead but an all white writer’s room proves that the entertainment industry does not care about representation, only optics,” one fan tweeted , while another added , “killing eve priding itself for having female writers but none of those writers being women of color is the very definition of white feminism.”
“I can’t get over how embarrassing the killing eve writers room picture is,” one fan tweeted.
“Because you know they posted it to be like ‘look!! our writers room is mostly women!!!’ lmao,” they added .
Other fans, who felt that Sandra Oh’s character had been sidelined in the most recent season, felt that the all-white writers room “really showed why.”
Many fans felt the writers room was lacking much-needed diversity.
