Breaking up is never easy to do — that’s probably why there’s been about three million different songs written about the topic, and don’t even get me STARTED on movies, TV shows, and books.
It’s even harder to do when kids are involved, and I can only imagine that having everything play out in the public eye to millions of fans doesn’t help either!
Kelly Clarkson is one of our favorite celebrities, basically ever.

Not only is she an incredibly talented singer, but she’s also a hilarious, sweet, and kind person that we love to watch both on The Voice AND on her own talk show!
She’s also the mother to two children (6-year-old River and 4-year-old Remington) with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock.
It hasn’t exactly been an amicable split.

Brandon’s father, Narvel Blackstock, owns Starstruck Management, which sued Kelly for $1.4 million in unpaid commissions , while also alleging that she owes an addition $5.4 million.
Kelly counter claimed that Starstruck Management was operating without obtaining a talent agency license, and all agreements made between her and the company are no longer enforceable.
Kelly opened up on her talk show about the struggles of co-parenting with Brandon.

“I know with me and Brandon, it’s just a difficult thing because we’re in different places, and it’s like, we both agree on the main things, but it’s a hard thing when you’re not together all the time, for me personally,” Kelly revealed .
“As long as you make sure it’s about the children and their best interests, then we’re both on board,” Kelly went on.

You can watch her full interview right here!
We love to see Kelly putting her children first during this incredibly difficult time for her and her family!
