Sometimes there’s just no way to please everyone!
Likely all of us know the feeling of disagreeing with our family when it comes to politics, and sometimes it really feels like it’s driven a wedge between you. Katy Perry has attempted to heal that wedge between herself and her father by promoting his newest clothing line, but fans were not happy with her for that decision.

Not only is the ‘Teenage Dream’ and ‘I Kissed A Girl’ singer a wildly famous musician, she’s also been a judge on the extremely popular American Idol since 2017. More recently, she’s become a mother with her fiancé Orlando Bloom.
Katy recently came under fire after promoting her father, who is known for being a Republican with pro-Trump political leanings, and his newest clothing line.
“We haven’t always seen [eye-to-eye] but I’m proud of my dad n bro for coming up with this!” Katy shared.
Katy’s words accompanied a video of her father promoting his “non-partisan” clothing line, saying, “Hey everyone, I’m Keith and I want to ask you a question. Are you tired of the division that is destroying our country? Are you sick of losing your family and friends because they just don’t agree with your political views? Well, I am, and I know there’s a lot of people out there that have the same feeling in the same way.”
Fans were not pleased with Katy’s decision to promote her father’s brand.
“I’m very disappointed with you. Love you soooo much, but I think sometimes you can’t be neutral, you have to position yourself on the right side of history and your father goes against many of my ideals,” one fan tweeted .
Others argued against the “both sides” narrative that the clothing line presents.
“This is a whole mess. Republicans actively try to dismantle every good for women/LGBTQ+/minorities… this is not it. Either you’re for the better of this country or not. Playing “both sides” is dangerous,” tweeted another fan.
