It can very difficult to open up about traumatic experiences in your life, especially to a massive audience when you are a celebrity. It takes a lot of bravery to come forward, which is exactly what Kat Von D has done in an emotional Instagram post.
Kat Von D is well known for a multitude of things.

As a reality star of her own show LA Ink following her work as a tattoo artist and as the former head of KVD Vegan Beauty and a makeup mogul, Kat has been in the public eye for quite some time.
Kat has opened up about her time before she was famous in an emotional Instagram video.
In a new Instagram video, Kat has spoken out about her experience at the Provo Canyon School when she was a teenager.

The boarding school was recently highlighted in Paris Hilton’s documentary, This Is Paris , where Paris opened up about experiences of abuse and isolation at the school.
“Watching Paris talk about some of her past trauma going to this school that her parents sent her as a teenager. I don’t like to call them schools because they’re not schools, they’re [expletive] lockdown facilities,” Kat says in the video .
“I was sent to the same place and I was 15 when I was sent and I spent my 16th birthday in there.”

“I was there for a total of six months and they were definitely the most traumatic six months of my life,” Kat says in the video before detailing that she was taken from her bed and blindfolded when she was transported to the facility, saying she was “kidnapped.”
“I had no idea it was gonna end up being that I was trapped for six months at this pretty crazy, torturous awful place.”
“I spent those 6 traumatic months of my teenage years, only to leave with major PTSD and other traumas due to the unregulated, unethical and abusive protocols of this ‘school’ — and cannot believe this place is STILL OPERATING,” Kat wrote as her Instagram caption.
It’s very brave of Kat to share her story!
