Being a new parent can be tough no matter the circumstances — whether it’s your first or fifth child, whether you live alone or with your in-laws, whether you feel like you know what you’re doing or not. It can be difficult when either parent has to return to work while leaving the other by themselves.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt doesn’t think that should be the norm.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been pretty quiet lately.
While he made a name for himself on 3rd Rock From The Sun as well as hit movies like Inception, Don Jon, 500 Days Of Summer, and Looper , the past few years have been quiet on the professional front for Joseph.
It turns out there’s a pretty good reason for that.

Joseph told James Corden in a new interview that he’d spent the last few years off to spend time with his two sons, one born in 2015 and one in 2017.
“I just felt really lucky I got to do that,” Joseph said.
Joseph explained that he thinks it’s important for dads to spend time with their babies.
“There are some parts of the world that give a lot of paternity leave, where the government thinks it’s so important that dad gets to spend time their babies that there’s government-paid paternity leave,” Joseph continued.
