Actor John Travolta and his wife, actress Kelly Preston, have taken to Instagram to remember their late son, Jett Travolta, on what would’ve been his 28th birthday, eleven years after his tragic passing.
Jett Travolta was born on April 13th, 1992.
While on a family vacation in the Bahamas in 2009, Jett tragically suffered a seizure and passed away at the age of 16.

The family has taken to social media to remember Jett on his birthday this year.
Kelly Preston shared a sweet photograph of her and her son.
“Happy Birthday to our sweetest Jetty, we love you!!” she captioned the shot, adding a heart emoji.
“Thinking of your family and sending hugs! Happy heavenly birthday Jett,” one commenter wrote.
The couples’ daughter, Ella, also left a birthday message for her brother.
“Happy Birthday to my brother Jett, I love you so much,” Ella, 20, wrote on her Instagram alongside three hearts.
“He’s your angel, honey, he’s always with you,” one fan commented.
John also shared a touching photo with Jett.
“Happy Birthday Jetty! We love you!” he captioned his photo.

John had previously spoken about the difficulties of losing a child.
“The truth is, I didn’t know if I was going to make it,” John said . “Life was no longer interesting to me, so it took a lot to get me better.”
John referred to the loss as the “worst thing that ever happened in my life.”
John thanked the members of the Church of Scientology for their work in helping him heal, adding, “They didn’t take a day off, working through different angles of the techniques to get through grief and loss, and to make me feel that finally I could get through a day.”
Fans also took to social media to share their condolences with the family.
Fans shared their own messages of grief, thoughts, and prayers for the Travolta family as they celebrate the life of their son.
This isn’t the only way the Travoltas have honored Jett’s memory and life.
The Travoltas have also set up a charitable foundation in Jett’s memory following his passing, The Jett Travolta Foundation , which has raised and donated money to over 70 causes.
The Jett Travolta Foundation was established in 2008.
The Foundation was established “to assist and provide relief to children with vision, hearing, mobility, communication, behavior learning impairments or other special medical, environmental, health or educational needs.”
That isn’t the only cause championed by the Foundation.
The website also notes that the Foundation may use its resources to “(a) educate the public about the need for a clean environment; (b) provide relief and assistance to children who are victims of natural or man-made disasters; and (c) provide grief counseling relating to the loss of a family member or other tragedy.”
