Joanne Rogers, wife of Fred Rogers of Mister Rogers fame, has tragically passed away at the age of 92, as confirmed by Fred Rogers Productions .
Fred Rogers passed away on February 23rd, 2003, while Joanne continued his work and his legacy supporting children as the chair of the board of Fred Rogers Productions.
Joanne and Fred Rogers met at Rollins College.

The two would marry in 1952 and remain married until Fred’s passing in 2003. The couple share two sons, John and Jim Rogers.
Joanne appeared on Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood in several episodes, as well as a cameo appearance in A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood .
“Fred Rogers Productions is deeply saddened by the passing of Joanne Rogers,” the company confirmed on social media.

“The loving partner of Fred Rogers for more than 50 years, she continued their shared commitment to supporting children and families after his death as chair of the board of Fred Rogers Productions,” they shared .
Their tribute continued.

“Joanne was a brilliant and accomplished musician, a wonderful advocate for the arts, and a dear friend to everyone in our organization,” they added, alongside a photograph of Joanne as well a shot from her on Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Joanne’s family and the thousands of people who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.”
Tom Junod, a writer who profiled her husband for the interview that would go on to inspire A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood , wrote , “There was no one else like her, except maybe her husband Fred.”
Tom continued, “There was nobody else who laughed like Joanne Rogers.”
“There was nobody else who made kindness sound not like a burden but rather like a source of raucous pleasure,” he shared.
Joanne was 92.
