Bindi Irwin and her husband, Chandler Powell, haven’t exactly had the most positive start to married life.
Since their wedding episode of Crikey! It’s the Irwins aired on Saturday, the newlyweds have been facing major backlash!
As you may recall, Bindi Irwin and her now-husband, Chandler Powell, got engaged last summer.

Chandler popped the question on Bindi’s 21st birthday .
Best birthday present EVER.
She announced their engagement on social media, along with two adorable photos.

“On my birthday I said ‘yes’ & ‘forever’ to the love of my life,” she wrote .
“Chandler, close to 6 years ago I fell in love with you,” she continued.

“& every day since has been a whirlwind of adventure & true happiness .”
“Here’s to a lifetime of friendship, purpose & unconditional love,” she added.

In a later interview with People , Bindi shared her excitement in even more detail — gushing over her shiny new fiancé.
“I am overjoyed to be sharing the news that Chandler and I are engaged!,” she said.

“This has been the most special day celebrating my 21st birthday. I’ve met my soulmate and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with Chandler “.
“We’ve been together for nearly 6 years now and he’s my happily ever after.”

The couple had planned on getting married this month, but due to unforeseeable circumstances, their plans had to take a backseat.
They opted for a guestless, intimate wedding ceremony at the end of March.
Their ceremony took place at Australia Zoo — the wildlife reserve where the Irwin family lives and works.
“March 25th 2020 ❤️ We held a small ceremony and I married my best friend. There are no words to describe the amount of love and light in my heart right now,” Bindi wrote on Instagram.

“We’ve planned this beautiful day for nearly a year and had to change everything, as we didn’t have guests at our wedding .”
“This was a very difficult decision but important to keep everyone safe,” she continued.

“We wish all of our friends and family could have been there with us, however it’s lovely that we will be able to share photos and videos .”
“Right now we’re encouraging the world to hold onto hope and love, which will carry us forward during this profound time in history.”

“Today we celebrated life and revelled in every beautiful moment we shared together in our Australia Zoo gardens. Mum helped me get ready, Robert walked me down the aisle, Chandler became my husband and together we lit a candle in Dad’s memory .”
“We shared tears and smiles and love. Thankfully, since we all live at Australia Zoo as a family, we could be there for each other.”

Naturally, the pair documented their big day to be aired on their show, Crikey! It’s the Irwins .
And while it is already available to watch in the US, it won’t be unveiled in Australia until July 18th, and fans are not impressed…

It wasn’t clear why Australia is at the very bottom of the list, but fans were not having it!
Fans complained that the order of countries Bindi’s wedding episode gets aired in doesn’t make much sense.

In response to the backlash, Chandler tweeted, explaining that this was entirely out of their control.
“Hey guys! Programming is out of our control as Animal Planet decides when to air the show,” he wrote.

“We will keep you posted as we find out more air dates!,” he concluded .
Bindi’s mom, Terri, chimed in as well.

“We have specifically asked @AnimalPlanet about the scheduled premiere of Bindi and Chandler’s wedding special in New Zealand,” she wrote .
“We love our Wildlife Warriors neighbours! I’m sure they are doing their best to get the show to you as soon as possible. Stay healthy and happy!”
