Some brides can be down right bridezillas. In all fairness, it is their day after all. But some go a bit overboard, planning every exact move of how they want the day to go and freak out if it doesn’t go the way they planned. We’ve all heard horror stories.
However, one bride reached out to the subreddit Am I The A****le to find out if other people thought she was in the wrong for wanting to Photoshop her bridesmaid’s tattoos out of her wedding day photos.

Reddit user and bride-to-be krofififjfj took to Reddit to see what others thought about her sticky situation.
She wrote that she is in a predicament. She has a bridesmaid who has a full-sleeve tattoo, and, well, she doesn’t want her bridesmaid to have a full-sleeve tattoo on her wedding day.
She mentioned that the friend has previously covered them before for work purposes, so she asked her if she would cover up her tattoos on her wedding day.
“She said she wouldn’t feel comfortable with that as it’s part of her identity and she doesn’t want to just for my ‘aesthetic’ wedding,” the bride-to-be said .
So, she contacted her photographer without her bridesmaid knowing to inquire about editing the tattoos out of the photos, which the photographer agreed to do.

Reddit user TieDyeShyGuy started the discussion off, saying, “I’d say YTA [you’re the a****le]. I imagine you asked her to be a bridesmaid because she’s your friend? It shouldn’t matter that she has tattoos. The fact that she is there and is a part of this important day should be all that matters.”
And others agreed. One Reddit user expressed, “It blows my mind that people care more about the aesthetic of their bridal photos than about the fact that their friends and loved ones were there to celebrate with them as they are. OPs priorities are whack.”

They wrote, “YTA. I have tattoos and as a woman they make me feel more beautiful and I love them. If one of my friends wanted to photoshop them out of her photos I’d feel like she wasn’t accepting me for who I am and what I choose to put on my body (which I have chosen thoughtfully and carefully). I could MAYBE understand if her tattoos were vulgar or inappropriate or something but her tattoos are who she is and she shouldn’t have to change or be changed to fit your aesthetic.”
Some people feel that the bride doesn’t truly care about her friendship with the bridesmaid.

One Reddit user brought up a good point. They said, “You wouldn’t Photoshop her to be thinner if she was a overweight person, would you?”
“That tattoo is a part of who she is and you are incredibly inconsiderate and rude in wanting to hide away a part of what she is,” another Reddit user said.
While the response was mainly unanimous, there were a few people who didn’t see a problem with the bride’s actions.
“I have multiple tattoos myself, I love all of them, and yet I plan on covering all of them up if I ever get married because they’d completely draw attention away from what is supposed to be the focus in photos,” user HarleyQ wrote.
Another agreed, “I would totally cover my tattoos because that’s not someone asking me to change myself. Tattoo are something I use to decorate myself, but they are not me.”
