Kevin Costner as John Dutton
With a leading man presence, Cosner was the perfect man for the job of leading Yellowstone . We’ve seen him in several box office hits over the years, such as The Bodyguard and Dances With Wolves .
Kelly Reilly as Beth Dutton
Unless you’ve seen her in Pride & Prejudice and Sherlock Holmes , you probably didn’t know that the actress is actually English! She certainly hides her accent well in Yellowstone .
Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton
Luke didn’t have to change much to play Kayce, one of the Dutton siblings. He already rocks a mustache, beard, and long hair like his gruff character.
Cole Hauser as Rip Wheeler
Cole, on the other hand, underwent a drastic physical change to play the handy ranch hand. He dyes his naturally light hair and beard for the role, which we think suits him best.
Kelsey Asbille as Monica Dutton
Before Yellowstone , we were used to seeing the dark-haired beauty in teen dramas, such as One Tree Hill and Teen Wolf . While she still has her dark hair on the show, she’s looking much more mature these days.
Gil Birmingham as Thomas Rainwater
The actor certainly looks different out of a wheelchair, as shown in his role on Twilight . The actor is also known for his roles on House of Cards and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt .
Jefferson White as Jimmy
Jefferson is proof that everyone looks good in a cowboy hat. Even though he plays an unlucky ranch hand on the show, we have to admit that he looks good doing so.
Tim McGraw as James Dutton
As a country music superstar, Tim was practically made to play James Dutton in flashbacks on Yellowstone . He was even who series writer and Yellowstone co-creator Taylor Sheridan had always pictured the part of James, the patriarch of the Dutton family.
Faith Hill as Margaret Dutton
Although Hill only made a brief cameo in Season Four, her time on camera was memorable. She looked a lot different than she does in real life, as her normal glam look was toned down.
Denim Richards as Colby
The actor behind Colby sure is a mighty fine one. Although Richards has appeared in several other TV roles, he has just the right charm to nail the character.
Jen Landon as Teeter
Landon is another Yellowstone actor who went through quite the transformation to become their character. While she has a girly side, the character of Tanner has pink hair and is rough around the edges.
Forrie J. Smith as Lloyd
Playing Rip’s right-hand man wasn’t too much of a stretch for the actor. Since he’s a stuntman and a genuine cowboy, he fits into the role like a glove.
Wes Bentley as Jamie Dutton
Before Bentley came to Yellowstone to play the black sheep of the Dutton family, he was known for his work on American Horror Story and The Hunger Games . We’re glad to see that he hasn’t dyed his gray hair.
Josh Holloway as Roarke Morris
Instead of chopping off his long hair for the role of hedge-fund manager Roarke Morris, Holloway stuck to his roots. He looks best this way. You might also recognize Holloway from his time spent on Lost .
Brecken Merrill as Tate Dutton
Seeing as how this is the actor’s first big role, we don’t know too much of the star beyond that. What we do know is that he does a great job playing Kayce and Monica’s son, Tate.
Ian Bohen as Ryan
While the actor, known for his roles on Teen Wolf , Chicago P.D. , and Breakout Kings , has always been gorgeous, he was clearly missing a cowboy hat. We love to see it now as he plays ranch hand, Ryan.
Ryan Bingham as Walker
Originally a singer/songwriter, music is actually how the actor landed a role on the show. After the creator reached out to him about writing music for the show and found out he had rodeo experience, he got written in.
Danny Huston as Dan Jenkins
If you don’t know the actor from 30 Days of Night or Wonder Woman , you might know him from the fact that he’s the half-brother of actress Anjelica Huston. He’s all business on Yellowstone as a real estate developer.
Moses Brings Plenty as Mo
Mo is hands down one of the best characters on the show. He plays the driver of chief Thomas Rainwater. In real life, he is a descendant of Brings Plenty, an Oglala Lakota who fought in the Battle of Little Big Horn in 1876.
Wendy Moniz as Governor Perry
As professional as she plays it on the show, Moniz’s Instagram shows a much more fun-loving side of her. Her other big acting credits include The Guardian and Nash Bridges from the early ’00s, as well as House of Cards and Law & Order: Organized Crime more recently.
Ethan Lee as Ethan
Playing the same-named character, Yellowstone is only Lee’s second acting credit besides a part in Free State of Jones . He’s more commonly a stunt performer, having done stunts in NCIS: New Orleans and Roots !
Eden Brolin as Mia
If that last name seems familiar, it’s because Eden is in fact the daughter of famed actor Josh Brolin, perhaps now best known for playing Thanos in Avengers: Endgame . Eden is starting to rack up rolls herself, having also played Charlie in Beyond .
Hugh Dillon as Sheriff Donnie Haskell
Another singer-turned-actor, Hugh Dillon is a Canadian performer who’s also the lead singer of the Headstones! He’s acted plenty at this point too, with roles in Flashpoint , Durham County , and currently, Mayors of Kingstown all under his belt.
