Labor and delivery is something that is unlike anything else. Anyone who has ever given birth to a baby will tell you that it is usually a “team effort.” Whether you are doing a home birth with a doula or a hospital birth with a team of doctors and nurses, not many women can “do it alone.”
It takes a really brave kind of momma to be able to deliver their baby all on their own—no drugs, no water, no nothing . While it sounds like it’s a terrible experience, some women rise to the occasion.

Recently, one story of a warrior mom has everyone shocked at her bravery and “bad-a**” ways.
Appearing on the Kelly Clarkson Show , a couple recently shared the story of their son’s birth that was not only unexpected but also a total surprise. The couple, Sergio and Kaitlyn from Texas, revealed to the world that Kaitlyn is a bad-a** who delivered their son all on her own in a gas station bathroom.
Sergio and his pregnant wife Kaitlyn were on the way home from a hospital visit when Kaitlyn was feeling some pressure.
Driving in the car, Kaitlyn said she felt some “pressure” down there but she wasn’t in any pain. She was two weeks away from her due date, so she didn’t think much of it other than maybe she needed to go to the bathroom.
She asked her husband to pull over so she could use the bathroom.
Her husband pulled over at the next gas station and she went into the bathroom, trying to see if she could go. When she tried, she realized she didn’t have to actually go to the bathroom at all. When she stood up, Kaitlyn says that’s when everything “came gushing out” and her water broke.
She began to pray in the bathroom stall.
Kaitlyn said she began “praying” while standing in the bathroom stall and someone in the next tall heard her, asking if she needed any help. Kaitlyn asked if she would call 9-1-1 for her, as she was in labor. However, that’s when Kaitlyn said she felt a “drop.”
When she reached down, she felt her son’s head coming out.
She reached down and at first, panicked, but then she said she felt “so happy.” While delivering her son in a truck stop bathroom wasn’t ideal, she said she had a “moment” where it was just her and her son and she felt so proud she had just delivered him by herself.
Sergio, on the other hand, was waiting in the car with the couple’s other son.
Sergio had no idea what was going on while his wife was in the bathroom—thinking she was just doing her typical business. He and his other son were listening to music in the car when a woman approached the car to let him know what had happened.
Sergio said he was in pure shock.
When he ran to the bathroom, he said his wife was standing there “smiling with their baby” acting as if nothing had happened at all. He was in shock and total awe that his wife had just delivered their son all on her own. He compared it to “something you see in a movie.”
Kelly Clarkson and her TV show crew decided these parents needed some “rest.”
After sharing their story, Kelly Clarkson told the couple that they needed some “much-needed rest” after this adventure and, they were getting a vacation away from all the chaos in Punta Cana. The couple was so shocked and grateful and I think we can all say—they deserve it!
