I don’t know about you, but I don’t think we gave the vampire craze of the ’00s enough credit. Sure, we all had our laughs poking a little fun at Twilight , but we also got one of the best sleazy-in-a-good-way, funny, sexy, and just plain fun television shows of all time out of it.
Obviously, I’m talking about True Blood .
*True Blood*, based on a series of novels by Charlaine Harris, was a huge hit on HBO.
The show, starring Anna Paquin as Sookie Stackhouse and Stephen Moyer as dreamy vampire Bill Compton, ran from 2008 until 2014, and had a huge following of fans obsessed with the drama and supernatural going on in Bon Temps, Louisiana. Vampires, witches, fairies, werewolves — a love triangle (or square) was really the least of Sookie’s worries.
It looks like we’re going back to Bon Temps again!

According to The Hollywood Reporter , a reboot of the series is in the works at HBO, under the watchful eye of Riverdale and The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.
Alan Ball, the creator of the original True Blood , is on board as an executive producer.
Reactions from fans of the original series has been mixed.
While some fans are excited for a return to familiar stomping grounds (biting grounds?), others think there’s no improving on perfection.
“Been thinking about the #TrueBlood reboot all day & while I miss Merlotte’s on my Sunday nights and the finale was disappointing, I just don’t see how a reboot can ever match the magic of Alexander Skarsgard as Eric Northman,” one fan tweeted .
What do you think?
Are you excited to see a return to the True Blood universe in any form, or does this news make you want to do Bad Things , like tweet angrily at HBO for messing with perfection? Let us know how you feel in the comments below!
