Actress Diana Rigg has passed away in the comfort of her home at the age of 82, according to Variety .
Diana was best known in recent years for her role as Olenna Tyrell in *Game Of Thrones*.
Diana was Emmy-nominated for her performance on the show in 2013, 2014, and 2015.
She also starred as Emma Peel in the 1960s series The Avengers and appeared in the James Bond film On her Majesty’s Secret Service.
Diana’s career spanned both stage and screen.
Diana appeared on Broadway in Abelard and Heloise , The Misanthrope , and Medea , and for each performance she was nominated for a Tony Award.
Diana appeared in films like A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Assassination Bureau, Julius Caesar, Snow White, Parting Shots, and A Good Man In Africa.
Diana’s talent agent, Lionel Larner, gave a statement on her passing.
“She was a beautiful kind and generous human being that enhanced the lives of all that knew her as well as a great actress. She leaves a great void in my heart,” he told Variety .
Diana’s daughter revealed that Diana had passed in her sleep after being diagnosed with cancer in March.
The daughter added that she “spent her last months joyfully reflecting on her extraordinary life, full of love, laughter and a deep pride in her profession. I will miss her beyond words.”
