The show was a hit and so fun to watch
Malcolm in the Middle was one of those shows that so many 2000s kids grew up watching.
It was a lot of fun to watch the dynamics of Malcolm’s dysfunctional family and the awkward situations they put themselves and each other in.
Fans still love the show today
Despite having now been long gone from our TVs, Malcolm in the Middle remains beloved by many as a lot of people grew up watching the sitcom.
It holds such a dear place in their hearts that fans were upset to hear the house it was filmed in was sold.
Muniz shared that the cast is still close
Frankie Muniz shared that the show’s family cast is still close to this day, a heartwarming piece of news for the show’s fans.
The former actor who played Malcolm shared that among the whole lead cast, he and Cranston have remained particularly close.
Cranston regularly checks up on Muniz
The now 39-year-old former actor, who is now a race car driver, was on the Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum podcast when he shared that Cranston still checks up on him regularly.
He revealed that the Breaking Bad actor sends him messages to ask if he’s doing well.
Muniz views Cranston as a father figure
The race car driver shared that despite having only had Cranston as his TV dad, he was a father figure to him on the show as he had begun filming at a young age.
Considering how young Muniz was at the start of the show, he must have needed guidance on set.
The former actor spoke about it on the podcast
“He still reaches out to me every couple of weeks, checks in on me. He really cares about what I’m doing, comes to the races, if my band was playing, came to shows,” Muniz said on the Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum podcast.
Muniz looks up to Cranston
The race car driver called the Breaking Bad actor an inspiration, admitting that he wishes to be the same for someone else one day.
Having filmed 151 episodes across 7 seasons together, the two have definitely had a lot of time to bond.
They were joined by a set of talented actors
Muniz and Cranston were also joined by the rest of Malcolm’s family who were the main cast of the show.
Christopher Masterson, Justin Berfield, and Erik Per Sullivan played Francis, Reese, and Dewey, Malcolm’s brothers, while Jane Kaczmarek played his mother, Lois.
Muniz and Cranston are now in different industries
Despite having worked together on this successful sitcom, Frankie Muniz and Bryan Cranston now work in separate industries.
The former has left Hollywood behind him to be a race car driver, while the latter broke out in the TV and film scene playing the famous character Walter White.
The two remain close today
Despite the separate lives they lead now, and with Muniz having admitted that Hal, Cranston’s character, was his favorite one on the show, the two are clearly still close today.
They played father and son on screen and seem to still have a similar dynamic in real life decades on.
