The show Survivor is a television staple at this point — although I was born before the show started airing, I don’t really remember a time when it wasn’t on air, and that’s the case for a lot of people. It was truly one of the pioneers of reality competition television, and this year marks the first year since 2000 that the show won’t be airing on its usual schedule.
*Survivor* has earned it’s place in reality television history.
Airing at least one (and usually two) seasons every year since the year 2000, Survivor is proof that sticking a group of strangers on a deserted island by themselves never ceases to be entertaining.

However, for the first time in two decades, the show will not be airing as usual this fall.
Variety reports that the show is delaying its 41st serason and “according to an individual with knowledge of the production, CBS and officials in Fiji are still evaluating the best time to start production due to the heightened health and safety concerns involved.”
The Amazing Race will take the show’s time slot instead.
The show had halted production in early March.
At the time CBS said, “Due to concerns and uncertainty surrounding the spread of COVID-19 globally, CBS and the producers of Survivor have taken the precautionary measure to delay production on the 41st season, which was set to begin filming later this month in Fiji.”
