Law And Order: SVU is a staple of television. Having been on the air since 1999, the show has made a huge impact on its fans, some of whom like myself have literally grown up on the show.
While Chris Meloni’s Detective Elliot Stabler is no longer a regular character on the show, many fans think of Stabler’s iconic relationship with Detective Olivia Benson as one of the reasons the show did so well.

While their relationship on the show was always platonic, it was clear the characters and the actors had a ton of love for each other.
Some fans think that the characters love for each other should have ended up romantic, and they’re pretty persuasive.
Fans think the characters belong together.
“Dear Dick Wolf, I hope you realize you live up to your first name for allowing all other characters except Benson and Stabler get together,” one fan wrote , expressing their dissatisfaction with the two not ending up in a romantic relationship.
It’s a pretty popular belief.
“why didn’t benson and stabler get together and get married and have kids together because that’s the only way my dumb mind can understand love,” one fan added .
I think they would’ve been adorable together, but I also loved Stabler’s relationship with his wife!
Some fans even think they should have gotten married.
“Let’s be real we all wanted detective stabler and detective benson to get together,” one fan said .
I would’ve loved to see a wedding episode of the show!
