Celebrity parents have to deal with so much criticism for pretty much every choice they make in their children’s lives, but luckily, sometimes their fans will have their back when the haters get to be a little bit too loud.
Eva Longoria was lucky enough for her fans to have her back after she shared an Easter photo with her young son.
Eva Longoria is a television icon.
Eva has appeared on tons of our favorite TV shows, but will always be known for her incredible 8 year run as Gabrielle on the smash hit show Desperate Housewives .
Eva is also the mother of a beautiful 2-year-old son, Santiago.
Eva shared a picture of herself and Santiago for Easter looking for eggs.
In the photo, Santiago has his long hair partially pulled back into a braid.
While most comments were simply wishing the family a happy holiday, some fans took issue with how long Santiago’s hair was in the shot.
“Hair’s too long! You should cut it!” one comment read.
“Cute picture but that braid is definitely not the style for a little boy!” another added.
“You’re not the one that French braided a little boys hair. I can see the confusion,” one fan commented in response to someone asking whether the child was a boy or a girl. “His hair is ridiculous now.”
However, there were a lot of fans telling the people leaving those comments to mind their business.
“If Eva and Santi are happy with how he looks that’s all that matters!” one fan responded.
“Worry about your own self! They look cute!” another defended.
Eva isn’t the only Hollywood mom to have her son’s long hair come under fire.
Actress Alicia Silverstone, best known for her iconic performance as Cher Horowitz in Clueless , is also well-known for being a fantastic mother to her 9-year-old son, Bear.
Though he’s since cut his hair, Bear once had incredibly long hair, and Alicia wrote about the bullying he received for it.
“I just love him so much!” Alicia began the post , writing, “Also, I just LOVE his hair in this image, I had to grab a quick pic. One time my son was made fun of by other kids because of his hair on a bus ride to surf camp.”
Alicia explained that she thought he would want to cut it after being made fun of.
“After he had returned and told me, I thought he would want to cut it for a haircut appointment we had already scheduled the next day, but when we showed up, he said ‘please give me a trim so I can grow it to my waist,'” she wrote.
“That’s my boy! He knows who he is. He loves his hair and chooses to have it long.”
“Mama and Papa aren’t going to stop him from being him. He’s beautiful and we love his hair! We would never impose any social ideas about what hair on a boy or girl should look like. We should all try to embrace our children and who they choose to be without any judgement!” Alicia added.
What do you think?
