It can be hard as a couple with young kids to be able to get just one night away from them! Of course, you love them, and you’re always grateful for the time you get to spend together, but also , sometimes they’re just little goblins and you want to have a date night with your husband goblin-free.
Sometimes a compromise is in order.

While Jill, her husband Derick, and their two sons Isreal and Samuel (5 and 3 respectively), are no longer a part of the television show, they still love to document their lives on their YouTube channel.
A recent video shared by the couple caught fans’ attention.
In the video, Jill and Derick chronicle a pretty unique date night.
The couple go on a ‘progressive date,’ where for each stage of a meal (appetizer, entrée, drinks, dessert), you go to a different restaurant. Both kids were brought along for the date and sat in the back seat of the car while the parents joked.
At one point, Derick asks them if they know where they came from.
“Do you know how you got born?” Derick asked the boys.
“We had a date and then you started growing inside of mommy’s tummy,” he said.
Jill added slyly, “We had a bunch of dates.”
Derick responds by saying, “We did have four dates in one day I think that one time,” after which Jill leans towards the camera and whispers, “We have a good sex life.”
Some fans felt that they shouldn’t have been joking about mature subjects like sex in front of their children.
“The kids have to be silent the whole date. Talking about adult stuff in front of the kids. This was very strange in some ways,” one YouTube commenter wrote.
“Kinda weird to talk about your sex life in front of your kids, no?” another asked.
Other fans felt it was strange to have brought the kids along on date night at all.
“Should have left them at home if it’s date night!” one commenter wrote.
