Eva Longoria is desperate to get back onto the set of Desperate Housewives .
The hit ABC show, which explored the lives of housewives on Wisteria Lane, was the star’s breakout role. She was only 29 when she joined the cast as Gabrielle Solis.
Before we reveal whether a revival is in the works, come take a walk down Wisteria Lane…
‘Desperate Housewives’ ran for eight seasons after first premiering in 2004.
The show followed the lives of four women living in suburbia in Wisteria Lane. They had to figure out the mystery behind their deceased friend’s suicide while also dealing with their own secrets.
The show was highly celebrated during its time on air, earning two Golden Globe wins and countless Emmys.
Viewers couldn’t get enough of the drama and intrigue that unfolded each week.
But soon, thanks to news reports, it became clear that the drama wasn’t just restricted to the streets of Wisteria Lane…
Some of the show’s stars have been accused of bullying.
Teri Hatcher, for instance, has come under fire for being mean by her former co-star, Nicollette Sheridan.
The star who played Edie Britt called her the “meanest woman in the world” for her diva behavior. Yikes.
Speaking of Sheridan, there was controversy surrounding her sudden exit from the show.
After her character was killed off in 2009, she filed a lawsuit against Disney, ABC, production studio Touchstone, and show creator Marc Cherry.
Sheridan claimed that Cherry hit her on the head and wrote her off the show after she complained about the alleged attack.
“I was the victim of assault and battery on the set of Desperate Housewives by the creator of the show, my boss,” Sheridan told Entertainment Weekly .
Although the case has been ongoing for many years, Nicollette won’t back down.
“I was vilified for standing up for my rights, not only as a woman but as a human being,” she said. “And I was punished for it. But that wasn’t going to stop me because I had to get my dignity back, and if I’d let it slide, I couldn’t have looked myself in the mirror.”
Eva Longoria, another one of the show’s stars, has also spoken out about bullying.
“There was a time I was being bullied at work by a co-worker,” Longoria wrote in a letter obtained by NBC News. “I dreaded the days I had to work with that person because it was pure torture.”
Despite these difficult times, the star is still desperate for a revival.
The 47-year-old revealed this when she made an appearance on Fox 5 New York. “I would be the first to sign up!” she said.
“I’m already on Wisteria Lane,” she added.
But Longoria put the idea to rest when she shared that the show’s creator likely wouldn’t be up to the idea.
“Mark Cherry, our creator, he feels like he’s fully explored those characters.” She also joked, “Plus, I’m 100-years-old, so I don’t know if anybody cares.”
Welp. Looks like we might not get that revival after all.
Even if it did come to fruition, we’re not so sure you’d be able to get Teri, Nicollete, Eva, and Eva’s bully all back in the same room again…
So, for now, binge-watch Real Housewives, the Bravo series that was based on Desperate Housewives !
