There’s no denying that Duck Dynasty ‘s Sadie Robertson is absolutely gorgeous, but that doesn’t mean that the reality star hasn’t had her issues when it comes to her self-esteem and body image — issues that were definitely not helped by an awful experience in the modelling world that she’s opened up about in a new, emotional interview.
Sadie explained that while she was modelling, she was told she would need to lose weight.
“I did modeling for a little bit and it was so hard. And I remember the guy came and grabbed my side and said, ‘if you would just 10 pounds, you would look like a real model,’” Sadie opened up in a recent episode of At Home With The Robertsons .

“I was really tiny,” Sadie went on.
“It really hurt me. And I was like, ‘oh man, that really messed with me’,” Sadie explained. “I hate that part of it. I don’t think it’s the pageant’s fault or modeling [industry’s] fault but I think that’s how we do it….and how we treat it,”
“I remember I was doing a no makeup photoshoot and I was so excited because I was like, ‘I get to show girls that this is what I really look like,'” Sadie said.
“I got there, and the photographer said, ‘she doesn’t really have a face for no makeup.’ And they called in the makeup team and I was just crushed,” Sadie explained.
What an incredibly rude thing to say — and that’s without even mentioning that Sadie (and everyone else) definitely has a face for no-makeup! That’s just our FACE!
Luckily, it doesn’t seem like Sadie has let those experiences get her down.
Sadie is currently due any day now with her first child, a daughter, and is enjoying a pretty successful career as a podcast host, author, and reality star with 4.3 million followers on Instagram alone! I’m sure whoever told her she wasn’t quite model material must be kicking themselves now!
