Duane “Dog” Chapman, best known for his work on Dog The Bounty Hunter and Dog’s Most Wanted surprised many of his fans when he announced his engagement to Francie Frane, just 10 months after the passing of his wife, Beth Chapman.
Dog revealed that he was engaged to Francie in an interview with *The Sun*.
“It’s a God relationship because it’s just like a miracle,” Dog said , “It’s a miracle how we met and it’s a miracle how great we’re getting along.”
Francie, a 51-year-old rancher from Colorado, has been dating Dog for a few months. The pair originally met through Francie’s late husband, Bob.
Dog admitted they have helped each other through their respective grieving processes.
“I know that when I start to feel bad about Beth and it’s overwhelming, Francie seems to show up and that helps the kids,” Dog said.

“And I feel that Beth expects her to show up to take care of me.”
“And Bob, Francie’s late husband, expects me to be a man and a gentleman and so I am,” he continued.

“It’s a very real love that we are developing with each other.”
“Both of us are allowed to talk about our spouses that are in Heaven – it’s not like we’re afraid to mention it or anything like that.”

“We console each other but we also know that we have a responsibility and that is to do this right.”
Dog recently thanked Francie for being there for him in the moments he misses Beth the most in an emotional Instagram post.
Posting a picture of Francie, he wrote, “I scream & Cry Beth where are you why did you leave me then I look up & see you Francie & the pain turns to a smile I LOVE YOU WOMAN !!”
Since the whirlwind relationship came as a surprise to most, many fans have been wondering how Dog’s family feels about the sudden engagement.

Now, Dog’s daughter, Lyssa, has reacted to the news.

Despite previous issues with Dog’s earlier relationship with Moon Angell , Lyssa stated that “Francie is an amazing woman,” on her Instagram and shared a post saying “Welcome to the fam, Fran!”
Dog’s daughter, Bonnie, also defended the engagement on Instagram, writing, “He’s still got my mother’s name on his chest, he’ll never forget her and the love she gave him.”

“She would be happy my father is in love and finding peace,” she continued.
“Life has never been easy for my dad, but love is something that comes naturally to him.”

“France is a wonderful woman, as usual no one can replace my mother; but it’s OK to let new people in.”
“My mom wanted him to be happy no matter what,” Bonnie continued.

“There is always going to be one and only one Mrs. Dog. Welcome to the pack, Francie,” Bonnie finished.
It looks like the family is all in agreement on this one!
