We can hardly imagine a person alive that hasn’t at least heard of the NBC comedy, Friends. True fans remember the most iconic moments of the show vividly, which is more than Courteney C*x can say. After years of portraying the fan favorite character, Monica Geller, C*x literally can’t remember very much about her time filming the show. To say the least, that kind of memory lapse makes things a tad awkward when thousands of adoring fans remember just about every moment of their favorite show. We guess it’s time for her to binge some reruns.
Monica Geller is a memorable character for most fans.
From 1994 to 2004, Monica Geller was a central character in the gang of six for the entire Friends series. Throughout the show’s 236 episodes, fans fell in with Geller’s obsessive cleanliness, love for competition and, of course, her relationships with her brother, Ross Geller, and best friend, Rachel Green.
C*x confessed forgetting during the ‘Friends’ reunion.
We’re not sure if the timing could get more uncomfortable when C*x shared during the Friends reunion that she doesn’t remember filming a lot of the episodes. In fact, she explained that she didn’t even remember being there. We’re starting to get a little worried.
She occasionally sees some reruns on TV.

When C*x does come across the occasional rerun of her own show, she’s often shocked by it. For whatever reason, she doesn’t remember what happened or what her character went through in the series. It’s true, the show was long, but this kind of forgetting is, well, quite impressive.
Luckily, it’s more of a bad memory situation.
The good news? It doesn’t seem like C*x hates Friends or anything like that. It’s more about her having bad memory in general.
“I see it on TV sometimes and I stop and go, ‘Oh my God, I don’t remember this at all,’” she explained.
Apparently, she can’t remember much from her childhood, either.
C*x does wish she took more ‘Friends’ pictures.
One of the great things about pictures is that they capture memories that will last forever —well, in theory, anyway. While photos don’t always mean we’ll always remember things, they sure do help. C*x regrets not taking more pictures with the Friends cast to keep certain moments for a lifetime.
She’s not eager to stream ‘Friends’ on HBO Max.

While loyal viewers were rejoicing when they heard Friends was arriving to HBO Max, C*x didn’t seem like she was joining them. However, only time will tell if she decides to travel down memory lane (well, maybe not her memory lane) with the episodes on the streaming platform.
She can’t ignore the impact of the show.
Even if she doesn’t remember the episodes or even her own character very well, she and her cast members made their mark on the world. Friends fans stand strong for their fandom, and that’s something C*x won’t forget. She explained to Today, “I knew it was special, but the fact that it’s still special is strange. I was walking out of the hotel today, or yesterday, and I said to someone, ‘How did I get popular again?’ I mean, I really feel like there’s paparazzi and it’s because ‘ Friends ‘ will, I think, never die.” We definitely agree, Friends is forever.
C*x believes ‘Friends’ is for everyone.

While it may be obvious, even for people who don’t watch it, Friends is about the importance of long-term friendships that are meaningful, complicated, and usually pretty funny. As old as the show gets, new and young audiences can find something meaningful in it — even if the tech is majorly outdated. C*x explained, “It doesn’t matter what generation is watching it. It holds up. I think the comedy is relevant. People can relate to every character. I don’t care how big the cell phone is. The computer you can’t lift. Life is that way.”
People even pay homage to Geller on TikTok.
Friends is all over TikTok, including C*x as Moncia Geller. Fans truly resonate with her character and even relate to some of the ways she’s underestimated by others on the show. For all that C*x doesn’t recall, it seems her fans recollect a thousand times over.
There are even realistic breakdowns of Monica’s life on TikTok.
Maybe C*x should pay TikTok influencers to keep the memories for her because this is pure detective work right here. We’re nothing short of impressed by how someone not in the cast or the writer’s room somehow knows way more about Monica’s lifestyle than C*x does.
Let us know in the comments what you think of C*x not remembering her time on Friends and if you think the show will go on forever, whether she recollects it or not.
