The time is NOW! The day is HERE! Well, the day is actually in APRIL, but at least we know it is coming!
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, please consider yourself lucky. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, it must mean you haven’t had to deal with the stressful ups and downs that the Law & Order: SVU fans have been dealing with for nearly a YEAR!
Now, I am finally here bringing tidings of comfort and joy! That’s right, it’s Christmas in February because we finally have a premiere date for Chris Meloni’s highly anticipated Law & Order: SVU spinoff.
When I heard the premiere date for Elliot Stabler’s return to my TV screen was April 1st, I thought it was a cruel joke.
It wouldn’t surprise me at this point, considering his spinoff series, Law & Order: Organized Crime has been pushed back so many times already.
However, it seems the premiere date is the real deal!
NBC announced on Thursday that it FINALLY air *Law & Order: Organized Crime* on April 1 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Seems like I’ll need two coffees that day!

If that news wasn’t exciting enough, Elliot Stabler will actually make his return — and reunite with Mariska Hargitay’s Olivia Benson — one hour earlier than that, as he makes his return to Law & Order: SVU.
Hold on, I think I’m going to need to sit down for a second to take all this in!
The two have been teasing a crossover on social media for sometime now.

Aren’t they just the cutest?
Chris first posted about his return to SVU which naturally got fans freaking out. Then, a few weeks later, Mariska teased her appearance on Chris’ new show and the internet actually broke for a second.
Now, what can fans expect from the new series? I *also* have that answer for you!

According to Entertainment Weekly the new series will show Elliot reeling from a “personal loss” as he rejoins the NYPD. Once there, he leads an elite task force that will tackle the complex and dangerous world of organized crime.
However, Elliot finds that the system and the city don’t look the same as they did 10 years ago, and “he must adapt to a criminal justice system in the midst of its own moment of reckoning.”
Needless to say, I think the series will be worth the long, excruciating wait!
Will you be tuning in on April 1st? Let us know in the comments below!
