The world was devastated on Friday when the news of Hollywood legend Christopher Plummer’s death was reported. The 91-year-old is survived by his daughter, Pulp Fiction actress Amanda Plummer, and his wife, actress-dancer Elaine Taylor.
Now, fans, friends, and former coworkers alike are paying tribute to the beloved actor, including Christopher’s Knives Out costar, Chris Evans.
Christopher Plummer’s career spanned over seven decades.
As many fans know, the actor first began on stage, making his Broadway debut in 1954, and would continue to return to the theatre throughout his film career.
Of course, Plummer was best known for his role as the head of the von Trapp family household in the 1965 classic The Sound of Music.
In addition to his performance as Georg von Trapp, Plummer was celebrated for his work in “The Fall of the Roman Empire”, “Waterloo”, “The Man Who Would Be King” and “The Insider.”
One of Plummer’s last films was the star-studded 2019 mystery film Knives Out .
The cast, which included Jamie Lee Curtis, Daniel Craig, Toni Collette, Michael Shannon, Chris Evans in addition to Plummer, received rave review’s from critics.
Now, Chris Evans is paying tribute to his former costar and friend.
Taking to Twitter, the actor wrote: “This is truly heartbreaking. What an unbelievable loss. Few careers have such longevity and impact.”
He went on to share one of his favorite memories from the *Knives Out* set:
“One of my favorite memories from Knives Out was playing piano together in the Thrombey house between set ups. He was a lovely man and a legendary talent.”
