I don’t know about you, but I LOVE a good scare. A scary movie? I’m front-row with a big bag of popcorn! A haunted house? You KNOW I’m running through that headfirst! I love spooky scary frights so much that sometimes I’ll even wake up my husband before the alarm goes off and deal with his first-thing-in-the-morning personality.
But the television series Castle Rock might even be too scary for me, honestly.
There are a lot of fantastic spooky shows on the air right now.
Not only are there great creepy shows on regular old broadcast television, but with the rise of streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and loads more, shows that previously would’ve been too much for TV can find life somewhere else!
*Castle Rock* is an anthology series inspired by a bunch of different Stephen King classic stories streaming on Hulu.
The Shawshank Redemption , The Shining , Needful Things , and more King classic universes are all tied together with the fictional town of Castle Rock in Maine, and Castle Rock the show ties it all together in a super effective and creepy way.
According to Ranker, *Castle Rock* was voted THE creepiest show of 2020!
Followed, of course, by The Outsider, The Haunting, Lovecraft Country, and American Horror Story to complete the top 5 .
I have to say, I agree with this list! All of these shows are a one-way ticket to me sleeping with my light on and jumping at every loud noise.
Do you agree?
Is Castle Rock the creepiest thing this side of Derry, or do you think there are scarier shows out there? Let us know how you feel in the comments below!
