Actress Mollie Fitzgerald, best known for her work in Captain America: The First Avenger has been arrested in connection to her mother’s murder by stabbing last month.
Fitzgerald played the character Stark Girl in ‘Captain America: The First Avenger.’

Fitzgerald also served as the assistant to the director of the film, Joe Johnston. She also wrote and directed the film The Lawful Truth in 2014, as well as 2017 short The Creeps.
“Being a part of this production has been one of the best experiences of my life,” Mollie said at the time.
Speaking to Comic Book Movie , Mollie had said that despite her role in the film being “very small,” that “you can’t pay for the experience I’ve had.”
On December 20th, law enforcement officials responded to a disturbance at Fitzgerald’s mother’s residence.

According to the police statement , Patricia Fitzgerald was discovered with an apparent stab wound, and was pronounced dead on the scene at the age of 68.
“A 38-year-old, white female, known to the victim, was contacted on scene and transported to a local hospital with minor injuries,” the statement read.

It was later confirmed that this was Mollie Fitzgerald, who had been arrested.
The Kansas City Star reports that Fitzgerald has been charged with second-degree murder and is being held on a $500,000 bond.
No further information about the case has been released.
Patricia Fitzgerald’s brother told the Kansas City Star that the family did not know many details about the circumstances surrounding his sister’s death, but added that “it doesn’t matter the circumstances — the loss of a sister is what it’s all about.”
Fitzgerald is scheduled to be arraigned in court on Thursday afternoon.
CNN has reported that the sheriff’s office was unable to report whether Fitzgerald had acquired legal representation or not.

Her family is planning a funeral for her on Friday in Gardner, Kansas, according to an obituary published in a local paper.
