As fans may know, TLC and Food Network star Buddy Valastro suffered a terrible accident at his at-home bowling alley back in September.
The 43-year-old Cake Boss star has taken to Instagram to keep his 3.7 million Instagram followers updated on his injury.
Buddy is known best for starring on the hit TLC show Cake Boss as well as the Food Network baking competition show, Buddy vs. Duff.
Buddy Valastro has been a household name for over 10 years.
Buddy is best known for starring in the hit TLC reality show Cake Boss.
The show follows Buddy and his family as they run the popular Hoboken, New Jersey bakery, Carlo’s Bake Shop.
Since finding reality TV success with “Cake Boss,” Buddy has moved onto a Food Network baking competition show with fellow pastry master Duff Goldman, “Buddy vs. Duff.”
Unfortunately, many of Buddy’s business ventures have been put on hold after the 43-year-old suffered a “terrible” accident earlier this year.

Posting a picture from his hospital bed in September, Buddy wrote: “Was involved in a terrible accident a few days ago… What do you think of my new accessory?”
Buddy’s rep later reached out to People explaining that the reality star’s injury occurred after his hand became impaled at the Valstro family’s at-home bowling alley.

“There was a malfunction with the bowling pinsetter, a common fix in the past, but it turned into a terrible accident,” they explained.
“After trying to release the bowling pin from the cage mechanism, his right hand became lodged and compressed inside the unit,” the rep continued.
“Unable to remove his hand, he can see a 1-1/2″ metal rod slowly and repeatedly impale his hand three times between his ring finger and middle finger.”
After over 5 minutes of pain, Buddy’s sons Buddy Jr., 16, and Marco, 13, had to use a reciprocating saw “to cut through the metal rod and relieve his father from the machine.”

According to People, Buddy has since had two surgeries, the first at Morristown Memorial in New Jersey at The Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan.
Now, fans will be able to get a glimpse at Buddy’s first few hours after his surgery in the new TLC special, Buddy Valastro: Road to Recovery .
The two hour special will show Buddy’s family rally around him in the hours following his major surgery.
In a preview obtained by E! News , Buddy’s wife Lisa Valastro described the moment the rod went through her husband’s hand.
“Is this a dream?” she asked. “It’s a nightmare. Never mind a dream.”
As for Buddy, he expressed his disappointment over the accident. “I’m so so mad at myself. My hand is everything to me.”
Buddy Valastro: Road to Recovery airs on TLC Wednesday, Dec. 23.
