Netflix’s Bridgerton is all anyone can talk about these days and with good reason. It has some of the best love stories and best steamy scenes we’ve seen on television in a long time.
The first season walked us through Daphne and Simon, season two brought us Kate and Anthony, and now, season three will focus on Penelope and Colin , instead of Benedict as some fans had expected.

‘Bridgerton’ season three will be focusing on Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton.
Nicola Coughlan, who plays Penelope , is the one who released the secret.
“Like Lady Whistledown, I have been keeping a secret for quite some time and I can confirm to you all that season three is Colin and Penelope’s love story,” s he shared at Netflix’s FYSEE panel on May 15.
“I have kept that secret since two weeks into season two.”
Netflix reported that we will get to watch “friendship potentially blooms into something more all while balancing her double life as Lady Whistledown,”
I can practically smell the drama from here.
Luke Newton who plays Colin, is more than ready to explore that relationship in any way he can.
“There’s so much love for that relationship,” he told Netflix’s Tudum . “Which brings its pressures because there are people that are really excited about this story to come to the forefront. But also it really warms me.”
So, the show won’t be following the exact order of the books as fans had hoped.
So we might have to wait for Benedict Bridgerton’s story in season four.
After all, while the show is based on the books, that doesn’t mean it can’t stray away to make some fans keep guessing. That’s what makes the show exciting!
Besides, the push and pull between Colin and Penelope is driving me insane.
Colin hurt her feelings in season two when she overheard him saying to a group of men that he’d “never dream of courting” her. It might have been just to save face, but I definitely want to see how that moves their relationship going forward.
Plus, this relationship will get to explore another fun new trope between characters.
We’ve gotten l**t to love, and enemies to lovers, and now we can look forward to friends to lovers.
“I love that we are exploring a relationship that so many people have had, where you form a friendship and you get to know each other down to the core,” Luke shared.
“Then it sparks something from there.”
Well, you’ve certainly caught my attention that’s for sure. I can’t wait to see what happens in season three and how it all develops.
For me personally, Bridgerton can do no wrong , so I am happily along for the drama-filled ride!
