The term ” wardrobe malfunction ” is one that we’ve all come to understand. Sometimes, while filming, accidents can happen — accidents that have a tendency to both humble and embarrass the actors on screen.
Recently, while attending a press event for Bridgerton Season 2, actor Jonathan Bailey revealed that he too experienced a wardrobe malfunction of his own, one which left him dying from embarrassment .
‘Bridgerton’ fans, rejoice! Season 2 is set to premiere this month on Netflix.

It’s been almost a year-and-a-half since the hit period-piece Netflix series first made its debut. Since that time, fans have been waiting with eager anticipation to find out what’s in store.
Recently, while participating in a cast press event, actor Jonathan Bailey was asked what, if any, bloopers occurred on set.

Jonathan plays none other than “Capital R Rake” Anthony Bridgerton . The actor reluctantly admitted to the media that there were several less than stellar moments.
“The fencing sequence brought about its complications,” Jonathan said with a smile.

According to Jonathan, the fencing outfits were incredibly tight-fitting. “Going in for my final lunge with Benedict, my crotch ripped and it was all on camera ,” the actor said sheepishly.
Jonathan continued, stating that he emerged from the incident humbled and red-faced with embarrassment.

“It’s just in those moments where you suddenly realize that you’re being filmed by 400 cameras and I sort of screamed, ‘This is so embarrassing.’” he said .
Funny as it undoubtedly was, Jonathan assured the media that fans won’t be getting an eyeful of his family jewels.

The Bridgerton star went on to say that complications such as his happen all the time on set and that filming never goes as seamlessly as anyone expects.
“It’s amazing what you can do in the edits,” he joked.

Jonathan also went on to praise the production team’s costume department. “Obviously, the costumes were incredible across the board and, as men, we are not going to complain about restrictive clothing when we are sat with women who wear corsets .”
Speaking of costume woes, Jonathan wasn’t the only ‘Bridgerton’ star who had a bone to pick with the wardrobe department.

Actress Simone Ashley, who plays Bailey’s love interest in Season 2, Kate Sharma , revealed that having to wear old-fashioned clothing presented its share of problems.
In a recent interview with ‘Glamour UK’, Simone explained that old-timey undergarments are the furthest thing from comfortable.

Simone said that she had to undergo “a lot of pain ” in order to portray Kate Sharma on-screen and that her clothes are anything but functional.
The budding actress also revealed that the corsets the women wear are so tight that they made her physically ill.

One day, after eating a big lunch, Simone began to feel lightheaded and nauseous while filming. Not long afterward, she began throwing up into a garbage can.
“I realized when you wear the corset, you just don’t eat,” Simone quipped.

She went on to say that “It changes your body. I had a smaller waist very momentarily. Then the minute you stop wearing it, you’re just back to how your body is .”
Compared to Simone violently vomiting into a garbage can, a small rip in the crotch of Jonathan Bailey’s pants doesn’t seem so bad at all.

You can catch all of Bridgerton Season 2 beginning on Friday, March 25th, 2022. Unlike Simone and Jonathan, feel free to wear your most comfortable clothes.
