As we get closer and closer to Halloween, the excitement and hype surrounding all our favorite Halloween movie gets bigger and bigger. Watching Hocus Pocus around Halloween is a tradition every year, but this year is pretty special, and for once 2020 is going to be special in a good way.
We’re getting a Hocus Pocus reunion!

*Hocus Pocus* is one of the most popular Halloween films ever.
The real stars of the film are the three Sanderson sisters, who are hilarious, feisty witches played perfectly by Kathy Najimy, Bette Midler, and Sarah Jessica Parker.
Funny enough, when the film premiered in 1993, it didn’t do so well at the box office.
Which may or may not have had something to do with the fact that they released a Halloween movie in July.
But remember that back in the day, their goal was to have it released on video several months after its theatre premiere— which would be just in time for Halloween!
Things turned around for the better, however.
The movie quickly became a cult classic! Go ahead, try and name someone who hasn’t seen this movie yet. I’ll wait.
And if you loved the first movie and have been craving a sequel, you’re in luck!
While news of a sequel is keeping us glued to our seat, we won’t have to wait nearly that long to see the trio together again.
It was recently announced the three stars would be reuniting for a charity event on October 30th!
The charity’s website says of the event, “Your ticket to the hottest pandemic-safe Halloween event of the year, featuring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy and spectacularly spooky guests—all to raise funds for New York Restoration Project’s critical environmental and social justice work.”
Bette herself just shared the first look at the three stars on her Instagram!
“Your 3 fav witches – @sarahjessicaparker @kathynajimy & ME – are returning for 1 night only on 10/30 at 8p ET!” Bette wrote alongside the picture of the Sanderson sisters all in costume, together again at last.
Obviously, everyone’s excited.
Even the film’s director, Kenny Ortega, left a comment alongside all the excited fans!
“I am sooooo excited for this! This is all I’ve wanted for YEARS!” one commenter wrote, while another added, “FINALLY! The reunion 2020 needs!”
We couldn’t agree more!
