A staple of every breakfast meal is clearly and obviously toast. Simple and convenient, toast can add to any breakfast meal. For some, toast is a meal alone in itself. Add some butter and some jelly, or even peanut butter or Nutella , it’s a whole snack.
While having toast is universally great, some people are in disagreement over one specific aspect of toast—how to cut it.
A recent tweet has divided the Internet over how to cut toast.
Twitter user @shopperbarbie48 shared a photo with three different ways to cut toast: diagonally, right down the middle, or right down the side.
Labeled #1, #2, and #3, the Twitter user asked people to “settle a family feud” and share which is the “right way” to cut toast.
Now, the tweet has gone viral and people are debating over the right way.
Some say that all three are acceptable, but it depends on what the toast is for.
One Twitter user said that the first way is for “visitors” because it looks nice, the second is if you’re enjoying toast alone, and the third is if you have a sandwich with sausage.
However, some said that it depends on the type of toast.

Some people online say that depending on what you’re using the toast for, you change the way you cut it.
For example, one Facebook user said that if you’re having toast with breakfast, you want it in triangles, but for a BLT, you want it halves.
One Facebook user, however, said that there’s no “right way.”

One Facebook user made a point—who is the one who “decides the right way to cut it?” And, they even said that how everyone cuts their toast is totally up to them.
But, if you were to ask me—I’d say 1.
